About
Situated at the base of the Conejo Mountain, Camarillo Springs Golf Course was carefully carved from the mountain's towering rock formations but it gets its name from the scenic water features that can be found throughout. Naturally, water is the primary challenge on this course, coming into play on eleven holes. There are also long par 3s that will require a sharp iron game. The course offers a fair test of your skills but the elevation changes are modest and the player-friendly fairways are wide and forgiving, which make the course more accessible to beginners. The golf course has a memorable start with a par-4 second hole, which is a tricky dogleg left from an elevated tee that features one of the best views on the course. The consistently good course conditions and the affordable rates have garnered Camarillo Springs a strong following among local golfers.

Greens keeper performs magic.
Ron aerated the greens Wednesday. 3 days later the greens looked like they were punched 3 weeks ago. The starter Tim does a great job, got our twosome out a little early. Harvey in the pro shop is an asset to that company.

they were airating back nine 12-18 so you could play 1-11 twice!!!! Nice !!!!

Acceptable conditions a little rough around the edges with some bare spots , greens in good condition
New carts were nice , fun day with friends , usually play there once a month
Good price with app carts included , be back next month for sure

Time
This course is really good and challenging. But pace play is hard to deal with. When you wait 5-10 minutes per hole to watch players in front of youdo nothing to speed up their play. When a Foursome plays and everyone waits for the 1 guy to hit his ball. Nobody is getting ready for their own shot. Then they all shoot at their own pace and time and I see no effort on getting there pace better or faster. Courtesy goes a long way and I don’t see it from most players in other groups

Is the place saying? New carts!!
Yes, sure, the range is a bit tattered, the netting needs to be repaired. But the standard mats are fine, as are the balls, they have put in new balls the same soft limited-flight Srixon balls that are at the LA City munis. And it’s $9 for a medium! Can’t beat that! I’ll take it all day, just for a warm up? Perfectly fine!
They have new carts!! Brand new!!! Is Camarillo being saved? Are the 18 holes staying? Yes yes sure some of the holes are a bit dried out and have dirt patches and bare spots - but lemme tell you, it’s no different to the LA City or County courses!!! It’s the same. Especially when you talk about Rancho Park or Wilson that are ripped to shreds.
The greenskeepers at Camarillo should be commended - the green complexes are great, greens are good, and!!! They machine rake the bunkers!!!! Thank you for that!!! You don’t get such nicely raked bunkers anywhere at any of the LA City or County munis, those bunkers are destroyed, foot prints everywhere, and nobody rakes them!! I was in heaven in these bunkers, yes yes some are crusty, but at least it’s smooth and not pock-marked with footprints!!! Yes!!!
I don’t want to talk it up too much, but for the same price as those others, but with better greens and bunkers, as well as a truly fun layout, and cooler climate than the Valley? You can’t say no. It’s perfectly fine to play.
I hope the course stays and gets fixed back to its original condition. Either way, I’ll keep playing, since they’ve wrecked River Ridge next door and Olivas gets boring fast.
Sure it’s a bit of a drive from the Valley but it’s worth it.
