Camarillo Springs Golf Course
About
Situated at the base of the Conejo Mountain, Camarillo Springs Golf Course was carefully carved from the mountain's towering rock formations but it gets its name from the scenic water features that can be found throughout. Naturally, water is the primary challenge on this course, coming into play on eleven holes. There are also long par 3s that will require a sharp iron game. The course offers a fair test of your skills but the elevation changes are modest and the player-friendly fairways are wide and forgiving, which make the course more accessible to beginners. The golf course has a memorable start with a par-4 second hole, which is a tricky dogleg left from an elevated tee that features one of the best views on the course. The consistently good course conditions and the affordable rates have garnered Camarillo Springs a strong following among local golfers.

Desperately needs maintenance!
I've played this course many times. I like it because it's close and convenient. HOWEVER, many of the fairways are in bad shape, grass is cut too infrequently and long clippings are left in place. Most annoyingly, the cart paths are in terrible disrepair, causing lurching and bumping to the extent that it's exhausting. There is an under the roadway (in a culvert) cart path that is normally "paved" with large sturdy wooden planks. Following lots of rain this past winter, the wood has rotted and it is downright dangerous to try to drive a cart through there.
I normally really like this course, but will not play it again until the cart path and bumpy terrain issues are repaired
Bad too bad
This is the first course i played here. Not as good as the other courses here. Staff are rude and the place is just disgusting. Grass isnt good. Wouldnt recommened this place to anyone.
need to remove all of the grass clippings when you mow, don't leave it out your dry on the top of the grass.
Wouldn't come back
This course is layes out in such a way to almost confuse the golfer. About 5 times I had to wonder where I was going, no signs for most of the wondering pathways.. hole 12 is a disaster. In the end I would not golf here again. Worth the $24 hot deal to try it out but not worth it to come back
Painfully slow day
Normally like this fun fair course. Sun afternoon started fine, but was parked two groups back st 8; our group walked off at 9 after too long a wait and multiple groups backed up on 10-12 that we saw. Too bad, it was a nice day, but no Marshall to help and people were getting testy. Leaving was the best way for us to end on a positive note~
Can't beat it! Great staff! Quick pace!
Recently moved to Camarillo and I have a new home course. I've read all the previous reviews, complaints and whines about Cam Springs... Where else can you play 18 on a weekend in under 4 hours, in 75 degree weather Mid-August and for under $40? Nowhere! The only complaint I have with this course is the hairy Tee-boxes.. Bring some long Tees! :) Honestly, the people there make it a great experience. From Glenn & Mike in the pro shop to Dan the maintenance man, to Jacob & Dave instructing, Marty & Gordo the Marshals, Jim, Karen, Marcus & the rest of the staff in the restaurant and the grounds crew; this is like home to me.. OK, I did see a rattlesnake off the 6th hole a few weeks ago, oddly it was within a few feet of the "Beware of Rattlesnakes" sign! Did see a few deer on the back "7" too! Overall, you get a great value here, a quick round and quality food/drinks. It's no Olivas or Tierra Rejada, but it's also not $75-$125 per round on the weekends! Go with an open mind, enjoy the weather & have a great round!
Never on Monday!
Arrived at noon on a Monday and did not see a single course maintenance employee all day. It appeared that all tee box positions and pins were unchanged from the weekend. The greens and the tee areas had not been mowed in days. Putted balls literally hopped towards the pin because the surface was so irregular. Rough areas are mostly dead from lack of irrigation. The few rough areas that are growing are overgrown and very hard to play out of.
The owner of the course has announced he is planning to redevelop it into something more profitable than golf. The attached view of mostly dead grass as you walk in from the parking lot is a preview of what this course looks like. It is clearly being intentionally mismanaged to build the case for closure.
After the spring rains course conditions improved dramatically, and the number of rounds played increased. Now that the free irrigation is over, it is very clearly the worst course conditioning in the county. Very sad as the Springs has a nice layout, is walkable, has incredibly mild temps year round, and used to be a very enjoyable and popular place to play golf.
Getting Better
Since the rains we had earlier this year the squirts took a very hard hit with rivers of mud flowing across the first and sixth hole fairways these are getting much better and the course is being cleaned up still a very fun play
Perfect Day....
Course was a little damp but playable.
finished the course in 3 hours.
Perfect.. Thank You..
Camarillo Springs
The course was in pretty good shape. Not great, but good. the greens were consistent and good. I like the layout of the course and I hope the course continues. The fairways could use some work but for the most part they are good.
April 2017
First time playing this fun course. It was a morning round of golf and the freshly watered course had a strong odor of reclaimed water which dissipated as the day went on. An alert Marshall kept an eye out for slow group(s) and instructed them to allow faster players to play through. This was greatly appreciated by our group. The greens were soft as carpet, the right amount of sand in the traps and the rattlesnakes kept to themselves making this outing a good day.
Surprised
Best shape it's been in years. Greens were fast and smooth. Tee boxes and fairways were in perfect condition and rough was cut but ball would settle down (but still playable). Will play there again soon.
I haven't played there in a couple of years because of the poor condition but I was pleasantly surprised. Complete turnaround
Scenery was fantastic , glad to see water on the course again
Beautiful day but the greens were in tough shape
