Pleasant Valley Golf Club
About
Pleasant Valley Golf Club sits just south of Dulles airport, but the expansive layout, which is absent of homes, feels much more secluded. The parkland layout tumbles across a diverse landscape of rolling hills and grassy meadows covered with hardwood forests. There is plenty of diversity throughout the golf course with some holes that are bunker-less contrasting with the links holes that have Scottish-style bunkers. One of the most memorable holes is the par-5 fifth. After an uphill tee shot with a bunker on the right and a waste area on the left the second shot presents multiple choices. To the left you could take a risk with trees and a bunker but you could possibly be rewarded with a better angle for the third shot while the right side option will require a third shot over a large bunker to reach the green.

Terrible condition
The fairways were in horrible condition. Pretty much unplayable I quit after five holes. They refused a refund very disappointing. I will never be back. Save your money and play somewhere else.
Pleasant Valley August 2025
Pleasant Valley in poor condition. No way should someone pay $132 to play this course. $18 for large bucket of range balls is also unreasonable.
Poor course conditions. Yes. It’s been hard for courses this year but here’s another one charging full rate for fairways missing grass and squishy conditions when we haven’t had that much rain. Tee boxes aren’t level and some parts of the rough look like actual cabbage.
This course is not maintained and not worth $130 a round.
I came here expecting a quality experience, especially considering they charge private course prices. Instead, the conditions were terrible. The greens were slushy and muddy with almost no grass, and the drainage was practically nonexistent. It was like playing through a swamp.
On top of that, the marshal spent more time pestering groups than actually helping with pace. He was rushing players in front of us and behind us, even though there were foursomes stacked all over the course. It’s clear they overbook tee times without leaving enough space for anyone to play at a reasonable pace.
I’ve played many public and private courses and never encountered conditions this bad or scheduling this poorly managed. This course is absolutely not worth the money
Good layout. Attractive course
The course was in much better shape the last time I played here. Obviously weather has impacted this course. Lots of dead areas on fairways. Rough was too long in spots. Greens had lots of ball marks and burned out areas. Hopefully cooler weather will help with the maintenance issues
Just 9
$60 for 9 holes of evening gold is kind of a rip off. Fairways and tee bixes were in pretty bad shape. Guy in the pro shop was clearly not happy to be there. Probably won’t be back
Challenging but Fun
The course was in great shape. It is challenging but a lot of fun.
Don’t get overcharged.
I’ve played this course when it was in really bad conditions and have played it since “work” has been put it on it. I think the most that one should play is $80-$90 weekend rates. I know the increase is mostly to pass the renovation cost to the customer but $132 is really aggressive. The conditions have I’m proved in some areas and still need work in others. Hole # 2 is a perfect example. The left rough is completely GiR and the green side bunker is not shaped properly. Sand is all over the grass. And that isn’t storm related damage..
Great Experience
Finished my nine hole round in under two hours on a Sunday afternoon. My first in northern Virginia in over five years. it was a great experience and the gentlemen that I played with made it fun!
PV First time
Nice course. Cart path only made the round gruelingly long. The back nine has a way better layout than the front nine but overall solid. Try to get at a discount because it isn’t worth paying $130 for.
Not a great value.
One of the few courses I play where they charge for a small bucket while already charging $130 on a weekend. $10 for a little bucket. I have golfed here a number of times over the years but the staff always seems bothered to have to help you. Starters don't proactively get groups in front of you ready so you go off late. The course could be a gem but they don't take care of it the way they should.
Still challenging, but not intimidate
This is a sister course to South Riding Golfers Club, a links-agile course I’ve played regularly for 20 years, but it could not be more different. Pleasantly hilly — no pun intended.— with a variety of long and short holes without waste areas just the right amount of water. Conditions when I played yesterday were head shoulders above those of most other semi-public courses in Northern Virginia. It is also vastly underutilized and almost always available on short notice.
