Best military course in the area
Sewell's Point has always been a favorite. My first time playing this season and it did not disappoint. Fairways and greens were perfect. I forget about the large practice area they have and need to make more use of it.
Reminder that they are a cashless venue, as are all the MWR places on the local bases.
Concessions are really good.
Great day
Course is in excellent condition. A+ greens. Overall great day.
Good round of golf
During periods of rain Sewells Point is a good choice due to the drainage. When most courses are cart path Sewells will most likely be 90 degrees. It is also a good walking course. Which is what I normally do when I play there.
Punched Greens and overgrown fairway
Course is usually in good shape
They punched the greens and didn’t mention it at all when checking in.
Home course
I play here regularly. Pro shop is well stocked. Bermuda greens are usually in really good condition minus people not fixing ball marks. Practice area is pretty large. Food is decent and priced fair. Only complaint would be you can’t hit driver or woods on the range.
Conditions
I play a lot of courses around town, including down in North Carolina. This was one the best conditions I’ve seen, especially the tee boxes. Kudos to the maintenance crew
Stacked on top of each other!
We started as a twosome, were made to pair to make a foursome. Appeared that tee times were <5 minutes apart. Tee boxes were stacked up the entire round. The course was well maintained, and the staff were very pleasant.
Beautiful, old school course
Played in a charity tournament for Granby HS golf team. The course was in great shape all around. The greens were pristine and rolled true. My only complaint was a few tee boxes were so hard I couldn’t get my tee in the ground. It’s a short course especially from the senior tees. Good value. They also have a good practice area for chipping and putting. The range is rather short and they don’t allow drivers or other woods to be used.
Sewells Point
Best condition I have seen the course in. Greens were exceptional. Really good value!
Well maintained and good people working here. Greens are a little rough and teeboxes need watering , difficult to stick tees in the ground.
