Lake Monticello Golf Course

Arriving at the gate, you have to call pro shop and get a number code for the gate. Course weaves thru a resenditial neighborhood. Homes are set back from the golf course. Fairways are tree lined. Easy holes and a few difficult holes. Hole #9 is a challenge.

Bent grass greens were rolling slow. Would like to play this course in the Fall. Highly recommend this course.

Great golf course with very nice layout. Lots of water , but not so much that it makes play too difficult. No beer or food on Mondays though.

Great course. Very similar to courses I’ve played in the north east. Every hole is tree lined on both sides with out of bounds looming everywhere. Not overly long but position is key as most holes require a well placed tee shot. Greens rolls well without heavy slope or break. Love the course overall I would recommend to others.

I've played here 4 times since late May and each time I enjoy playing there that much more. LM is a challenging course and in very good shape tee to green. You will see lots of deer. Water comes into play on several holes. Some holes have a tight window to place your tee shot. Greens have some slope to them. If you haven't played here give it a shot.

It's a nice course but around a lake neighborhood. It's very beautiful and each hole is quite different due to use of the natural landscape. We played the front in 1.5 hours, then ran into a group of 5 on hole 11. Play just stopped. Pro notified and he came out and dealt with it. He was very professional.

I guess my question is when did course etiquette become optional? We've noticed even at our private club the same rude and outlandish behavior. Let's keep golf fun and respectful.

Course was in very good shape tee to green. Challenging course with a mixture of holes, all sorts of lies and suttle break breaks on the greens.

Lake Monticello is amazing! My daughter & son-in-law recently moved there a few months ago. They listed myself and my wife with the HOA and gated community/security, so we can freely visit anytime we want. Anyway, I drive over there to play golf with my son-in-law, and also see my adorable granddaughter! The course is incredible, coming from the.... you know... less known, municipal style, ratty ol' courses, that have been played to death. Lake Monticello Golf Course is like a country club, but it's not. It is jaw-dropping amazing! Every fairway is like a carpet. White sand in the bunkers. Beautiful, well maintained, greens. Wow!!

In closing, you will LOVE playing Lake Monticello, but just be cautious, because when they say "LAKE" Monticello... They mean it! There is water darn near on almost every hole, or parallel to the fairway! Play smart, study the course, layup with a smooth 6-iron shot, just before the dogleg left. Then an easy wedge onto the green. You will love it, believe me!

Great condition tees fairways and greens in excellent condition for such dry weather. Will definitely keep on my playing list. Stag very friendly

I knew *of* the course, since my daughter & son-in-law recently moved to the Lake Monticello area, registered with that HOA stuff, etc... whatever... One of the golf fairways is almost across the street and through the woods from their house! Anyway, one thing led to another and my son-in-law called me up and said, "Hey, I'll get a tee time, and let's play golf!". I'm in Richmond, VA, so it's only 1 hour at best to get there. Getting to the point: Lake Monticello Golf Course is absolutely amazing! I couldn't believe it! I don't know if it's private if it's part of the HOA or what, but, I was just is awe of the whole layout. Nothing was burnt up in 90+ degree summer heat. Every fairway was like a carpet. Absolutely beautiful course! I want to come back and play again! I need "redemption" on some of the tricky greens...
