Overall great experience 👍🏼
32 bucks to play here?; great bang for your buck. Pretty course, layout is great, very good condition. At 55, I can reach a few par 5’s in 2. I’ll be coming back often👍🏼
Challenging Yet Fair…
One of our favorite venues in Hampton Roads. Regular Monthly play. Staff is among the friendliest around. One of the better values for money spent in the entire area. Easy drive from most anywhere in Hampton Roads.
Solid course.
Greens were in great condition, a little fast but manageable. Fairly open and lengthy fairways.
All Stop
I have played this course many times and I love the scores, but this is the second time that I got caught behind an outing that was just going out and taking up the first eight holes without charger. At the 5+ hour mark we decided we couldn’t take it anymore at the 16th T and Just went home. I will not be playing sleepy hole for sometime invited a friend from North Carolina and couldn’t even complete around a decent amount of time. This time it was high school having a tournament and balls everywhere. Sometimes it was 20 minutes a whole. Just the best way I know of wrecking or was a good round.
Restaurant
Staff is friendly but venue is to small. Booking staff will not honor passes they give out in the tournaments at other courses on a technicality.
Great course for the price
Can’t beat sleepy hole for the money. Sand traps are great, greens are great, and it’s just a really fun layout. Can be very slow on weekends as any course can reall.
Customer friendly
Very nice layout. Great people. Numerous amenities.
The greens were inconsistent but in good condition overall. Fairways need more work. A lot of bare spots. Give the course another month and everything should be good.
Good value
Greens were bumpy, but considering the recent punching, this was expected. Two par 4 fairways were marked restricting carts. This was confusing, since the ground was dry and the check-in person told me it was 90 degree rule. Other than being behind a slow twosome, it was a good round. .
Gorgeous course with no one out there with us for a discounted price
It was amazing. We got out there early and had a good discount for during the week. Greens were being aerated but still very enjoyable.
It wasn't so Sleepy
Sleepy hole golf course is a pleasure to play, the only bad thing was it had been raining alot and the course didn't have time to dry out. Cart path only, and it was wet in the fairway, no roll out on drives. Greens rolled true and speed was consistent with all greens. I love this course and will be back. Ohh it was a good and steady 17 mph winds also, lol.
Not ready to play.
Sleepy Hole is a very nice venue but it was not ready to play this early in the year. The fairways grass had not yet begun to grow and the fairways were thin and damp. Not the fault of course management, rather the weather. The greens were also thin and hard to hold but putted true. Sand bunkers were full and well kept. We will certainly be back in a few months when the fairways and greens are luster and the course is really ready for play.
Pleasant second round
Played here three years ago in early March. Fairways were a little thin. This round, even though we’re in the middle of winter seemed better. Overall worth the trip. Looking forward to coming again in April/ May.
Excellent challenging yet enjoyable, true fairways , greenside bunkers and greens are in great shape 5 stars except for fairway bunkers
