Suffolk Golf Course

Play the course often mainly because of the price. They keep the course in excellent shape especially considering the price. I’m in my seventies on a fixed income so I don’t like paying the prices at some of the so called high end courses and I feel like Suffolk compares to them in many ways.

Course looks good and the amount of sod they are putting on bare spots and tees is going to pay off like the green revamp a decade ago.

Problem is that twice in the past month, we’ve had a tee time directly behind a fivesome. A fivesome that is not allowed according to their scorecard. Seeing them slam shots into the woods with 3 groups waiting with us on the 2nd tee was tough.

I called the pro shop and asked about the 5 some turning the 2nd tee Into a parking lot so he sent the starter out. Starter told them that the know it alls behind you think they can run a course better than we can called the pro shop and asked them to let us play through. I know one of the guys in the 5 some and he posted that on Facebook. Dude’s classy like that.

So pro, what’s up with this?

Staff (front receptionist) can be much more nice to customers.

The front desk staff was unfriendly.

The course was wet after rains.

The layout was good.

I do not want to come back and do not recommend this place to anyone particularly because of the

attitude of the front desk staff.

A good number of the tee boxes are in serious need of help, but they are working on them. Greens and fairways are in nice shape. Sand traps also need work. Most are packed and it’s hard to get under the ball. This was my second time playing this course. Much happier with it this time, and certainly won’t be my last….
