Great course for the area
The course is great for around here with the pricing. Awesome greens and fairways on almost every hole. The sand traps are much of sand traps, more hard compact sand with water, so stay out of them. Good course for a relaxing and easy day to just get out.
Course Condition
This was my first round at Suffolk. I played with a friend who has played there previously. The surroundings are very nice. Most of the fairways are wide and the layout is good. What I wasn't pleased about was the fairway condition on almost all holes. I know we are just at very early spring but the grass is scarce and the ground incredibly hard. Almost impossible to get under the ball in the fairways. I only found one bunker and found it too to be very packed and hard.
My friend tells me that once the grass comes back in it will play better. I hope so because I like the course and would like to play it again.

Excellent course!
I’ve played several courses in the area and this one is my favorite. The course is maintained very well and the staff is extremely friendly. Overall an excellent experience.
Very Nice Golf Course
This course was in great shape for early March. Staff was very friendly. I will play again when everything is green.
Great Course
Played a few times here and always enjoyed it. Staff is great and course is good. Ball cleaners need to be replaced but course is good to go. Course has a driving range. I really enjoy his course and staff! Price cant be beat, especially on Tuesdays!
Terrific Wilson Raises Greens
Course is a very early Duck Wilson course that still retains his built up undulating green. The layout is terrific and has some gently rolling terrain and several holes with water views. During my morning round I played very fast and conditioning was good.
Course review
Haven't been playing long , but this course is nice. This is my second time playing this course and in Dec in Virginia with the weather the course is in nice shape. Fairways are nice and lots of leaves on edges of fairways. Golf carts are in nice shape. Overall, this is a good course for beginners as well as experienced players.

Have been playing this golf course off and on for 50+ years. Seems like nothing ever changes and that is a good thing! Very few houses line the fairways with more of a natural surrounding. The staff is as good as it gets. I worked in the Pro Shop at another local golf course for 7+ years and Suffolk GC (although not as FANCY) provided a very similar atmosphere. Thank you for all my memories and for providing the entire Tidewater golf community with a realistic vision of golf the way it was originally intended.
Excellent Course, rowdy patrons
Overall the course is well worth the money. The greens were in great shape. It seems each time I play here there is a group that is troublesome, today a slow selfish group that we witnessed stealing other peoples balls, last time there was a drunk rowdy group near us. The course should have a Marshall to help endorse course educate. The course itself is a fun place to play otherwise
