Cheap golf not many complaints.
Overall the round wasn't too bad. It you are someone who typically fades the ball off the tee this course is definitely for you as there are several dog-leg right holes. My tee shots all have slight draws to them so many holes required a precise tee shot, I ended up using my 3 wood on (avg 260-270yds) as im too long with my driver for most holes on this course.
The day we went was cart path only, although there was no need as the fairways and roughs were pretty dry.
Fairways and greens were is decent shape however the greens were very difficult to read as they looked as if there was definitely a left or right break to them but the putt would end up being dead straight...very deceiving.
Overall a good course for the money (I got my round on Tee off for $19)
Great course!
The Suffolk Municipal Golf Course is a great course. The tree lined fairways come up to well manicured greens. The variety of tee boxes provide a skill levels a challenge. Having lakes and water features through out the course adds to the scenic resort feel. The staff was incredibly accommodating and helpful. I had such a great time I went back three more times and plan to have my granddaughters enrolled in their camps next summer.
Starter/Marshall
Starter/Marshall was very rude and was cursing while talking to me because I had parked the cart just off the cart path and slightly in the wooded area. Then proceeded to claim I had been driving through the woods all day. Said he was going to kick me off the course but not in those words. Again, very rude and making claims.
What can I say?????
Well, I was pleasantly surprised after not playing this course in over 20 years. Greens rolled fast and true! They were firm as well! Nice to see greens that weren't riddled with ball marks. Too many new golfers that do not know how to buy a ball mark repair tool, or use them. Course was in pretty good shape, only a few holes that had grass clippings. Unfortunately, like so many other courses, no marshal to speed up play. 5 hours to play! Way to long, we felt like we had to speed up on every hole just to wait.
Great price
Great deal walk 18 for $20. All 18 holes are in good shape.
I’ve been playing this course for over 30 years and this is the best shape I have seen it.
