Not sure why it posted would not recommend to a friend because I definitely would and we already booked our tee time for this coming weekend,
Course is in great shape
Our group played on Sunday morning and we drove over from Virginia Beach and found the cord to be in wonderful shape( so not sure what they other guy is talking about with bad greens The pro told us number six hasn't come out of dormancy yet because of the shade)but the other 17 or in wonderful shape and anyone that plays a lot of golf and plays on Bermuda greens knows they're normally pretty firm. We played in just under four hours and you can't beat the price for weekend golf,Thanks for a great time and we hope the weather is as good the next time we go back in a couple weeks.P.S bunkers are hazards there not suppose to be nice and when I was fortunate enough to play Pine Valley they were hard as bricks and don't even have rakes and I think pine valley is ranked number one in the world
I was excited to play the Champion Greens
Until I got to the first green. They did not hold and they were very very dry. The green on #6 was completely covered with sand. Also, there is no sand in the traps, I guess it's all on the 6th green. I was very disappointed. I have been playing this course over 20 years. Their #1 job is growing grass and that's not happening. Sad. I hope it gets better or I will not make the 25 mile trek to play it.
Great day out on the course
"A bad day of golf is better than a good day at work."
Scenery was nice, especially around the lakes/ponds.
Lots of walkable area in the trees, in case that's where your ball lands.
Pro shop was like a lot of courses. Snack bar that doesn't take plastic, and I'm not complaining. It's like stepping back into the 80's Just a funny observance.
$35 w/cart on a weekend isn't a bad deal, in my opinion.
A lot of dead/dying grass. Could be due to lack of rain in the spring. I don't think I've met a course I didn't like in some way, and this is no different. Will play again next trip to Suffolk,
wrong course locked in when purchasing. thank god I was only charged the tax. I hope!
Slected Stumpy lake and got sent to Suffolk golf course and got charged. No way to contact anyone with problem. Did the whole thing online with pro desk at course. Ended up paying more. I never did get a solution . Giving suffolk a great rating and never played there, but got charged to play.
Great Staff
Staff were great and extremely friendly. Greens were brown but rolled true and were fast. Fairways are just starting to come in.
Suffolk's Gem
Great day for golf. Course was in very good condition.
Fun Times
Enjoyed playing this course. Wild variety of holes some very scenic ,some challenging and a lot had crowned greens so may need a little more club to get home. Greens were brown but rolled true and were fast also were tricky due to the mounds. The last four holes are challenging and I found myself looking forward to playing them. Good place to get a fun round in at a very good price!!
Very Nice local course
One of our favorites,. A number of real challenging holes for us average players
Nice course
The course was really nice. I enjoyed it and we will go there again. The golf carts were new and really nice. my only complaint would be that the cart trails were a little rough and need some work and repairs.. But besides that, we had a blast in playing 18 holes..
Suffolk Golf Course Review
Arrived 30 min prior to tee time and group was allowed to tee off. Condition of course was really good and appeared to be well maintained. I would play it again without hesitation.
nice place
this is by far one of the best kept-up courses i've played in this area. both the fairways and greens were in perfect condition. pace of play was fine. was able to keep a pretty good rhythm.
Enjoyable to play.
Course in good condition fairways and greens. Will present challenge to accomplished player and fun for the novice..
Greens were perfect today
The greens today were as good as any in the area and our group has really enjoyed playing this well manicured golf course,The pro said they have a rather large tournament coming up soon so there getting ready for that and it sure shows,I though we missed a turn and went to a private club,If you get a chance to play there you should go it's one of the best values in our area.
Excellent Old and Scenic Course
If you want a course that is not necessarily a long course but will make you use a lot of clubs in your bag, this is it.
Pleasure To Play Here
My wife and I played this course for the first time Aug 30, 2014 and thoroughly enjoyes it. The course is not too challenging, especially for High handicappers and seniors who will play well here with the wide fareways and short grass in the rough.
Excellent Value
One of the best kept secrets in Hampton Roads golf. Course is in great shape, new greens really coming into there own. This course would cost twice as much to play if it were located at the beach. Well worth the trip to Suffolk.
