Golfer Reviews
Great course
The Lely Mustang course is a little pricey, especially in-season, morning tee times but it’s one of the best public courses in the area. In fantastic condition when we played, tee boxes, fairways and greens. Rough is manageable, lots of water that needs to be avoided! Range and other practice facilities are as good as anywhere and Sam Snead’s is a pretty decent restaurant. Will be back for more!
Lely Resort - Mustang Course
The course was in perfect condition. The greens were fast, but true and best public course greens I have played in southwest Florida. Several tee boxes, we played middle white which was 6,100 yeards and perfect for myself and my son.
Great conditions
The Mustang was in superb condition, with tees fairways and greens all well taken care of and no weeds or bare spots. The greens rolled fast and true. The landing areas are generous off the tee but there are plenty of bunkers along the fairways and around the greens to punish a wayward shot. There are also plenty of water hazards to keep you on your toes. However one of the toughest aspects of the course was the 20+ mph wind, with a number of holes playing straight into the wind and turning a challenging hole into a beast even from the white tees. Give it a go, you'll really enjoy the round.
Two good tracks
Played the Mustang course in the morning. Very fair for all handicappers good condition. Greens ran fast and true with very little undulations. The Flamingo was a little tighter but greens were a bit slower with a little more undulation. Both courses in pretty good condition. Recommend them both, highly.
Over priced
This course is ok but for the conditions it’s way overpriced
Awesome Experience!
First time playing the course. Very impressed with the staff, course conditions. The greens fees were a bit high.
Great layout
New to golfing at age 69 but really enjoy going
out late. Feels like my own private course.
Great course
Great layout, fast greens and good test. Pretty pricey
Experience
Enjoyed the golf course greens and fairways were good, tee boxes Need some work.
Had booked Mustang course as I had played the Flamingo course the day before. I was redirected to the Flamingo course as a twosome. Did not get a reason why. Did not know the player I was paired with. He did not play at all well and left after 6 holes played. Now I was a single following a foursome.
At the turn the starter said I could go out on the Mustang course to play nine holes. So be it but that is not how a round of golf is supposed to be played.
Very frustrating day of golf.
