Wyncote Golf Club

Good value for the money. Greens were super fast but may be due to drought conditions. Otherwise in great shape. My friend says shouldn’t have charged the lousy $1 for water on the course for the proce of greens fees. Maybe install free water refills.

Simply one of the best courses to play within 100 miles. Get a deal and get out to play Wyncote! Always worth it!!

The best part about Wyncote in my opinion is the greens. I I’ve fast greens, especially when they’re true.

This course is beautiful. Great conditions. Great restaurant. Wonderful greens. Target golf - not for the amateur that doesn’t want to lose balls. I would recommend this for anyone in the area of traveling. Links style course. Great restaurant overlooking the course

Now the warning - the phone system is awful. You will never get a person on site to pick up. They have an outsourced call handling system. The rental clubs are not good at all - make sure you have your own clubs.

Staff is great on site. Met the owner and he is nice as well. Definitely come play but bring your clubs and don’t plan on speaking with anyone on site until you get there!

Couldn’t ask for a better experience course was so good.

This golf course was in top shape, it played as tough and fair as any course in the area. Greens rolled like pool tables, you had to have your speed dialed. The fairways had some roll to them for sure, and they were like carpet. The wind was whipping a good 25-30 mph and it was a great test of golf. I have no complaints about the course conditions other than the bunkers, thin in some places and deep in others, and no rakes. But still not bad for a public facility for the bunkers, it’s really the only thing that needs work.

This course was really nice. Range was good, staff, carts, putting green, chipping area, even the layout of the course was good. It was just hard. Gotta be a fairway finder to play good here.

Understandably, it has not rained in over a week in the region. However, when morning tee times are going for $120 a round, the expectations of course conditions would be that the fairways and greens are watered, with the rough being seasonal but manageable. Multiple times during our round balls would hit center of the fairway, only to take 10-20 foot bounces into the air, impact the hard rough, take more 10-20ft bounces, and leap from the course. The par 3's were well maintained but the par 4 and 5s felt dry. The predominant amount of bunkers of the course had no rake located nearby or on the cart to rake them out after usage, with the sand also being hard after its initial top layers. Greens could use watering and have hit the point in the season where they could be punched to regrow given the state of the grass being dry and lightening quick. I love the course and the layout, but this felt as if it was playing below both its prestige and price point.

Loved the staff. Loved the course layout. Loved the course condition. Fairways and greens in excellant condition. You may find some holes challenging if your a high handicapper.

Course looks and plays great. Unfortunately, there was no ranger and pace of play was atrocious at 8am in the morning on a Sunday. It also didn’t help that the neighborhood cow farm reeked of manure the entire golf round. Not sure if that is a normal occurrence given the proximity to the course but it was unbearable. We didn’t finish round and left early. Course is great but not worth it to pay $100+ then have to pay for range balls then deal slow pay and the smell manure. Hard pass for the next trip we take.

Well Rich in pro shop swore to me on the phone 2 hours before I was due to arrive for my tee time ,the 80% chance of rain on my Forcast was absolutely incorrect. RICH said it was just spitting rain and would Definitely pass by early afternoon.!We hit off a lil before 12 and it was spitting rain .By the start of the back 9 it was a heavy steady spitting .By hole 13 a steady moderate rain and it just continued..I quit after hole 16.I wish Rich would of just been honest and I would of rescheduled vs driving almost a hour to play in rainy conditions.

Wyncote outdid itself again, this is the fourth time I’ve played there each time I’m more impressed with everything about this place from the friendly staff in the pro shop to the starters and the restaurant. Food is amazing! Our fourth player didn’t show and we got paired up with a local/member named Paul didn’t catch his last name, but he is a Retired Marine. (desert storm vet) Again, Paul thank you for your service and sacrifice What a great guy his course knowledge was very helpful to my nephew and his buddy, also a marine. As the title of my review states and all-around great experience.

Friendly staff at check in, nice practice area. The course is unique and in great condition. Probably the most consistently well maintained course I've ever played, I've never had a bad round. We met friends in the restaurant after the round and had one of the best meals we've ever had. Who knew you could get that kind of a meal in Oxford.
