About
English Turn Golf & Country Club is a Jack Nicklaus design that was crafted in 1988 to host the New Orleans PGA Tour event. Nicklaus designed the course to be enjoyed equally by spectators and golfers, incorporating gallery berms and spectator mounds throughout. This challenging design is known for its undulating greens that will test even the most seasoned players. Each hole has a unique design that combines strategically placed bunkers, including large waste bunkers, and sloping grass swales. There is also carefully sculpted mounding along the edges of the fairways. On top of that, water comes into play on nearly every hole. English Turn's signature hole, the 15th, is a tricky par 5 with an island green but it's the final hole, a par 4 with water all along the left side, that is rumored to be the golf course's toughest.

Course in good shape had a lot of rain lately.
The greens are coming back
Great Course Needs Better Yardage Markers
Barley any yardage markers..only on drain covers in middle of fairway..doesn't help when its wet/freshly mowed..I'd suggest putting in stakes on the edge of the fairway. Other than that..great course

the course was very wet and the greens were not cut but that's to be expected when we had all this rain

I am shocked at the players as there appears to be a rush to play and finish and not only they will drive the ball through you but they will not ask for permission to pass
I met bad temper and somebody who scolded me because I made the mistake of driving close but not on the greens
The person yelled and told me that he was a member and that he would not allow destruction of his golf course as he is already entitled by the money he pays
The greens are in terrible condition too
I would not play again in that course
I grew up playing fantastic courses and I am not use of this discord on the course
Overall the course is not well attended either
Not fair to rate the course at this time.
The course was in pretty bad shape, but I don't think it's fair to rate it at this time. It's been raining quite a bit and I was told by one of the grounds crew that they were having trouble with multiple pieces of equipment. I could see where it could be an interesting and beautiful course, but I didn't find a good value today. I will give the course another chance before I move on.

The course was in goood condition besides all the rain we had lately. The greens were much slower than expected.
Horrid-Don’t do it!
When I arrived the “Stoner” cart kid couldn’t even talk. Then I walked in pro shop and witnessed counter person swapping golf stories with a regular. They ignored us for about 6 minutes. After finally finding first tee we realized we wouldn’t tee off for 20 minutes. By the second hole we encountered sand traps in the middle of greens. Freshly laid sod patches that were over 10 yards on greens! Paid almost $100 per person. This place sux! Stay away!
Underrated.
This course is not talked about enough in the New Orleans area. A Country Club allowing guests to come play at these rates is awesome. The practice facilities provide all that you need to warm up and the course is beautiful. Narrow fairways and greens will keep you on your toes out here!
Inconsistent
Always liked this course but greens really are in trouble. Many large bad spots. Mixed types of grass where there is grass.
Rest of course in good shape.
Played on Sunday and course was full but no beverage service anywhere. Not even in clubhouse and not even water to be found. Wish I had known ahead of time so I could have brought my own. They are the only course I’ve played that allowed the flag stick to be removed and did not have anything in the holes to shallow it.

I am surprised they let this course go down like this.
I was surprised at how brown the greens were.
I was surprised at how poor the course condition was even though it had not rained.
Sand traps were mud and some had no sand at all.
