Plinko board greens
15 out of 18 greens are in the worst condition I've ever seen greens.
Great Historic Course
The Joseph M. Bartholomew Golf Course is a historic course that offers an enjoyable golfing experience. During my recent visit, I found the fairways to be in great shape, reflecting the dedicated maintenance by the staff. However, some of the greens could use further improvement. Despite this, the overall playability of the course was commendable, allowing for a satisfying round of golf.
What truly stood out during my visit was the phenomenal staff who went above and beyond to ensure that every guest felt welcomed. Their friendliness and knowledge of the course added a personal touch to the experience. After my round, I enjoyed unwinding at the 19th Hole, which provided a fantastic atmosphere and a great selection of food. Overall, playing at the Joseph M. Bartholomew Golf Course was a proud moment, and I look forward to returning in the future.
Greens are GONE
The Greens are in total disrepair. They are hard, sandy, painted, with no grass. DO NOT GO without checking to see if the greens are replaced and somehow grow back.
Great Municipal Course!
This is my local municipal course and I love it! My only complaint are the greens (just ate up and hilly sometimes) but boy is this course beautiful and fun to play at any time of day. Also, one of the only ranges to offer actual GRASS, which is my favorite aspect of this course!
Worst greens in the city.
Out of 18 greens NONE ARE PUTTABLE. ALL GREENS ARE COVERED IN DEAD SPOTS, ITS LIKE PUTTING ON A PLINKO BOARD. GREENS ARE ATROCIOUS.
no golf etiquette
Started one hole behind a twosome,
We had a twosome also, while we were approaching the second green, the marshall who started us on number one rode past,. Whe we got to the third tee, the marahall had joined the twosome. Now we had to wait on them..
When we got to the ninth hole another marshall joined the threesome in the fairway. Now it was a foursome, a non golfer jumped on the cart with the first marshall and now we could here laughing and talking while we were on the ninth green.
We decided to play the front again instead of waiting on the the 4/ 5 some.
To make matters worst the greens were in bad shape. It seems like everytime we play this course we have an issue.
Don’t let the first green fool you…
Many of the greens are simply unplayable. I don’t know what keeps happening to this place, but they’ve had serious green issues before. If I didn’t play on a Hot Deal combined with a tee time credit I would’ve demanded my money back.
Green trouble
Greens were not only resanded but had many dead spots on them. This was not shared during the booking of the tee time. Someone should have said something so we can make our own decisions about playing or not.
Seen Better Days
Greens are the worst I’ve ever seen them. And God forbid that alarm goes off, you are going to get yelled at by an angry security guard with no explanation if you keep trying to play. I guess it’s a lightning / safety issue? Still don’t know because they wouldn’t actually explain anything when we asked. Just yelled at us to get off the course. But if you don’t mind being treated like you’re a troublesome teenager rather than a paying customer, this course is for you.
My new local course
Great experience for a great price. I will be back!
Rental clubs overpriced
They made me buy a rental set even though I was scrambling with a friend. 50 dollars for 20 year old clubs….
Jimmy C
Great course’ Great staff! They have a few greens that are in bad shape. Other than that a great place to play
Slow Pace
The group ahead of me did not have course edictcy .being that I was one person playing by myself they would not wave me through so it really threw off my rhythm.
