Cobb's Glen Country Club
About
Cobb's Glen Country Club is named after its designer, George Cobb, a Georgia native who lived in Greenville most of his life. He designed many golf courses in the South, including the par-3 course at Augusta National. The golf course sprawls across rolling terrain blanketed with mature forests. Opened in 1976, the layout may be more traditional than modern golf courses but it still presents one of the area's most formidable challenges. The course has hosted a variety of events over the years including the U.S. Open Qualifier and the South Carolina Amateur Championship. There are 90 bunkers strategically placed throughout, and the greens are lightning fast. The 11th is one of the most memorable holes. This par 3 plays over water to a triple-tiered green that is flanked by three bunkers on the right, one for each tier.

Challenging
One of the nicest courses in the Anderson area.If you get a chance to play it you will not be disappointed.
Typical Cobbs Glen Round
Started on time right behind a five some. This apparently is typical for this course as others have commented. Very slow until we skipped two holes and played the back nine in an hour. Traps need some TLC as do the cart paths. Most greens were good for a hot part of the season. Glad I don't have to play here every week.
Really enjoyed the round.
From the friendly greeting upon entering the pro shop to the end of a three hour and thirty minute round, the entire experience was positive. I would recommend Cobb's Glenn to anyone looking for a pleasant round of golf. The course was in great shape with nice fairways and firm, fair greens. I will play here again, for sure.
Great Layout
Course and weather were perfect. The only negative is their were 2 fivesomes holding up the course which made lace of play awful.
Great course
The parking lot was packed out but I never seen another player!! So good job on timing on the tee times!
Great value
Extremely friendly staff, amenities are so-so. Course has a bit of winterkill on a few greens but not too bad. Don’t be discouraged by the practice green cause it’s the worst. They still roll good.
Good Course
I play this course regularly and it’s always a good round. A few greens are in need of some attention but other than that it is well worth the money. It’s a challenge and enjoyable. Also only 20 minutes from my house.
Always a good round
Cobb’s Glen is 25 minutes from my house so I play here regularly, Course is normally in good condition with a few greens that are not in the best condition but very playable, it’s still early in the season. Good challenge for everyone. Even without Golf Now booking Greens fees are not bad.
Slow play
Beyond me why they would allow 5 somes to play on a weekend!! And they didn’t even have the golf Etiquette of letting people play through!! Backed up the hole course!!
Good Course
This was my first time playing the golf course. I had a great time. Golf course has tight lies in the fairway. Greens are quick. Some bare spots in the fairways and a few greens but not enough to effect play. I’ll certainly go back and play it again.
Greens are crazy fast so definitely hit the putting green to get used to it. Fairways are wide and fairly flat so very forgiving, but you still have to hit decent shots to maintain a good score. Pace of play was super slow but other than that couldnt ask for anything better.
Cobb on Easter
Great course!!! Fairways easy to navigate, but good variety off the tee box. Very challenging greens!!! You can't take them for granted. Great day, nice staff and fellow golfers.
Lightening
These greens were so fast. I took a beat down but enjoyed it due to the true roll of the green. There isn’t a lot of grass in some places. I felt peace of play was slow because i was always behind a slower player but i played 18 holes in 3 and 1/2 hours. I didn’t need the grill so i can’t comment on that. People in the clubhouse were very nice. I’m going back with a friend in 3 days to show him those wonderful greens. Please keep it up.
Early round
I’ve played this course a few times during the summer and was impressed by the great condition and quality of the fairways and greens. Playing in early March it is not fair to criticize too much. The greens were very slick, I repaired many ball marks on them and filled in five times as many divots in the fairways than I made. I’m sure things will improve as the season progresses.
Best greens in the area!
Cobbs Glenn has been constantly improving for some time now. Everytime I go there are noticeable improvements to the course and facilities. You will not find better greens anywhere in the area. Fast and rolling great. It looks like everyone is making an effort to fix ball marks, fill divots and rake bunkers, which have gotten much better, here recently. Fairways are generous and wide but this course has always been a challenge. With it being just over 7,000 yards from the tips. I would definitely recommend this course.
