Cobb's Glen Country Club
About
Cobb's Glen Country Club is named after its designer, George Cobb, a Georgia native who lived in Greenville most of his life. He designed many golf courses in the South, including the par-3 course at Augusta National. The golf course sprawls across rolling terrain blanketed with mature forests. Opened in 1976, the layout may be more traditional than modern golf courses but it still presents one of the area's most formidable challenges. The course has hosted a variety of events over the years including the U.S. Open Qualifier and the South Carolina Amateur Championship. There are 90 bunkers strategically placed throughout, and the greens are lightning fast. The 11th is one of the most memorable holes. This par 3 plays over water to a triple-tiered green that is flanked by three bunkers on the right, one for each tier.

Very challenging
I played the Green markers on the course and found it quite challenging which is what I enjoy! Very good layout, the greens were firm but receptive and over all a very good course to play.
The course was in outstanding condition
The course was in the best condition I've ever seen it in the last six years. The greens were fast and true. The course maintenance was excellent it played well and presented a challenging but fair round of golf.
Course needs a ranger
This was the 2nd time I played the course behind a 5some on a Sunday. I recommend they get a ranger to keep this from happening.we called the clubhouse to inform them but I guess this is how they roll. A long 5+ hour round
Good course
Nice course easy to get around.
good layout
Excellent course. Very pleased with the course.
Cobbs Glen
I had played this course many years ago but I feel it was much better this time. The condition of the course were great. The only things I would like to see would be more sand in the traps and better yardage markers. Could use 150 and 100yd markers you don't have to be on top of to see. Maybe something on the tee boxes to give distance to hazards when laying up is the best play.
I would recommend this to any golfer no matter their ability. With multiple tees makes for a fun day at any level
Good deal.
Fun course, good overall condition.
Excellent course
We had a very windy day with extract from the pine trees all over the greens, so it made putting very challenging in what I would guess are very challenging greens to begin with anyway. Factor in a 20-30 mph breeze and this course was all the golf course I could handle. Bring your "A" game if you want to go low in this course. We caught a very busy Saturday afternoon, and even had to wait to get a cart, but overall it was not that bad considering how busy it was. I would definitely need at least 5 rounds of golf on this course to figure it out.
Beautiful lay of land with great variety
I visit Greenville area to see family and look for quality courses for the money and the experience. Your course met and exceeded the expectations that I got from reading the other helpful reviews. The tee box distances were great for first timers at your course and I look forward to playing blues in the future. I'm not real familiar with the sand options in SC , but it seemed pretty hard with minimal rain on the previous day. That didn't lessen the fun of playing the course, and I'll look to get back when I'm in town. The pro shop attendant was extremely friendly and professional.
Slow play
This course allowed 3 sets of 5 players go off on a Sunday afternoon. This resulted in painfully slow play since they would not let anyone play through. We were unable to finish the last hole due to darkness. Was told it was a fundraiser apparently for a local college judging from the ages of the players. They never made any attempt to spend up and showed a total lack of care for players behind them. The management of this course should know better than to allow fivesomes on a weekend!
Great day golf
Teed off about 11:15. Weather was perfect. Saw a twosome on the first green as we teed off. Never saw them again. Saw no one else until a twosome caught us on 15. Course was in excellent shape. Fairways were great, rough was tough bermuda, sometimes hiding the ball, and greens were fast. An enjoyable challenge. Saw several improvements in course from last time we played it, which was a couple of years ago. Well worth the money.
Home course and it will always be the best in Anderson County
Play Cobbs Glen frequently and it stays well manicured with fantastic greens and good pace of play. If you have never played this course, try it once and then you will come back without prompting.
Great greens
Great layout. Greens smooth and receptive. Rough not too penal.
Fantastic conditions.
The only reason I did not give this course 5 stars across the board was because after the round, you may need a kidney transplant due to the poor cart paths. The fairways were beautiful and green. The greens rolled perfect and were probably a 9 on the stimpmeter which is fast for many amateurs. The rough was pretty deep and challenging. You could actually lose a ball in the rough 1 foot off the fairway. The course was challenging but a fair test of golf. So glad I got to play it in the present conditions. Oh, and the pace of play was quick. Tee off was 0755 and done by 1030 with all 18. Thanks Cobb's Glen. Awesome morning.
Watch out for those bunkers
Good course for the money. Overall in very good shape. Fairways, tee boxes all very nice. Rough was really long in many places making it difficult to find and play your ball. The greens were in excellent shape and very quick. My only negative about this course is the bunkers. While they looked raked they were very hard. Also it appears that they are filled with more dirt than sand. It took a few attempts to figure out how to play out of them. Overall a good value for the money.
tophauler
overall very nice shape, nice staff can't go wrong here
Very good considering...
We have had a lack of rain in the area so the course was very good considering that fact. The greens were just punched and sanded so putting was tough and inconsistent.
great golf course
Great value, smooth greens and wide fairways. some landscaping on few holes, would improve overall look.
A well kept course.
I have played here a few times now. I will continue to play. I like the course and the the staff is always going above and beyond.
Quick 9
Not too many people on the course at 4:30. We played as fast as we wanted. Pro shop and bar staff are always friendly. Like most courses in the area the clubhouse is generic and dated, but well kept. The putting green is in nice condition, and it's more of a of a priority to cut the grass on course than it is to cut it on the range. I'm totally fine with that. Overall this course is always a good time and well run.
