Course on a comeback

10 months since I last played this course. Ownership has changed. Efforts to improve course conditions are aparent, but not yet completed. Greens very good, bunkers fair to poor,. Fairways thin, but this is January.

Better this January season

The overall condition of course was reasonably good shape… it had been dry over recent days and course not severely wet. Sand was not playable but fairways and greens quite good shape. Cart path a bit rough, just drive slowly.

Had a nice round playing alone. Got out at 9 a.m ahead of a league. Didn't see another soul on the course. Played 2 balls at a time. We'll played out course, greens were great shape. Played 18 in 2 and a half hours.

Pleasant Surpise

Given the price I paid I didn't expect anything great, but the course is actually in pretty good shape. It seems like they overseeded greens, tees, and fairways. With the exception of a one or two clearly recovering greens on the back 9, the course plays really well. For the price, Eagle's is a no-brainer goof value. Will definitely play again soon.

Overall review

Course layout was good. Tee boxes were in less than fair condition. Greens had lots of bad places.

It was cart path only and the cart paths are in really pour shape.

Overall not bad for $30

Getting better every day

If you have not played Eagles Pointe in a while do your self a favor and go play the course. The greens are as good as some of the high priced courses in the area. The bunkers may still need a bit of work, but over all it is well worth playing.

What a difference 25 years makes!

I hadn’t played Eagle’s Point since the late 90’s. My memory of it was ho-hum. Oh my, was I pleasantly surprised!

First, most importantly, the course was in spectacular condition, even for winter. The grass was dormant but the fairways and rough were plush, and the greens were smooth and reasonably fast. Bunkers well maintained. Tee boxes healthy. Just great! Very impressive.

Clubhouse staff were friendly and helpful.

Facilities themselves are kind of basic. Pro shop with the basics, a no-frills grill room and bar with food for the turn, and cart staff to help with your bags. Not luxury but just fine.

And the price was a huge value. The course is fun and difficult enough without being painful. Really enjoyed it. Will be back often!

Pricey for the conditions

I caught a GolfNow deal for $53 to play Eagles Point. It’s been a long time since I’ve played there. Now I remember why I stopped going. The greens were in rough shape, the tee boxes were suspect, course was wet (doesn’t drain well). Pretty disappointed with the courses based on the price I paid.

Well worth the price.

Course was in great shape. Rough was a little gnarly which made finding balls sometimes difficult. Greens were fine for this time of year. Only complaint was the lack of yardage markers. I don’t use a Rangefinder due to how little I play so it made figuring out distances difficult. Would definitely go back though.
