Front 9 Only
Only the front 9 is currently open. So pace of play becomes very slow when golfers make the turn and start their next 9.
Too close
Too close to the bus depot, the streets, the other holes. People were on our green trying to hit the ball to the hole next to us. Not very relaxing.
Toughest city course
My opinion this is the hardest city course we have. Target golf to a tee. Really makes you think about shot location. Greens are rolling really nice. Partner said sand was nice (from what he’s used to). The group in front wouldn’t let us pass. They waited for greens to clear on par 4’s and gets mad cause he’s not on in one but 50 yards right about 220-250 max. Fun to watch though.
goat track
this course was a large disappointment. from tee box to greens, everything was in terrible shape. used the restroom on the back nine and the urine smell was overwhelming! the cart paths or lack there of were so bad I think a goat would break a leg on them. Staff was friendly but, like they say, put lipstick on a pig, or in this case a goat, and it is still a goat! they should rename this course to Fred Stink!
We’ll say it’s a little rustic
This was the first time for me to play a public course in Tucson. In fact, this course happened to be on my way to the airport. I had a few extra hours so I figured why not. I had played the Vantana Canyon courses over the weekend. While playing at Fred Enke I was quick to tell Toto I that we were no longer in Kansas. It was actually somewhat of an interesting course. I did have a good time. It is just a little tattered. And the dirt cart paths kicked up a lot of dust. Greens were fine. Teeboxs are a little uneven. Not a particularly challenging course.
Best Greens
Have have played many times during the covid month. By far the best greens around!
4/20
Best bang for your buck! Course in great shape, lots of interesting shots and greens are a lot of fun.
Turtles spotted on golf course
Pace of play was very slow. No Ranger.# of greens had too many unfixed ball marks and rocks from traps. 5-6 teeing areas very unlevel.
Good course but in desperate need of a Ranger
The course conditions were good by winter standards. amenities were also up to standard but if there’s anything I can recommend is that this course needs to add a Ranger to regulate pace of play. We had a 12:45pm tee time for two and was able to get in early And tee’d off at 12:30 PM. Playing this course before it should take between 2.5-3hrs for a twosome to play golf. We come to find that for two people to play around of golf at this golf course would take 4hours to get through 13 holes when I paid for 18. We had to leave due to a time constraint. There should be no reason for a twosome In golf should take 4 hours on this course even when we reached 14th hole. Unacceptable by golf standards. As a resident in Tucson I would expect a much faster rate of play than what I had gone through today. Even during peak season being October-April where Tucson is the most crowded.
Interesting
The variety of holes and shot selection options makes this an interesting golf course. The pace of play was terrible on a Saturday am but the changes from hole to hole was very entertaining, will play it again
Green conditions
Too many of the greens had sand and rocks on them which should be removed with a leaf blower by grounds crew. Pace and conditions of greens was excellent. Interesting layout with layupstrategy required on 3-4 holes. Booked again.
Good
V C purse just reopened from the seeding ..looks great!!!! Too bad it rained and flooded the back 9 ...will def play again soon
Fred Enke Golf course
The worst course I have ever played.
Very poor condition, greens were extremely slow, no signage to direct you to the next tee, no amenities, not enough drinking water in the course.
For s few dollars more, you can go play a quality course.
I would not recommend this course to anyone.
Fred Enke Golf Course
Absolutely, by far, the worst golf course I have ever played . They should let you play for free it is so bad.
I will not be back
Fred Enke Tucson City Course Eastside
Course in good shape. Hour plus frost delay. Staff is very good and professional. Will play there again.
