Fred Enke Golf Course

Was an average course, little pricey for the course.

Guess you get what you pay for. Glad we had a hot deal otherwise would be very upset. Took almost 5 hours to complete our round. Waited on every tee box. Course had too many people on it. Actually ran out of carts and had to wait until some golfers finished before we could get one. Some golfers seemed more interested in the beer than the golf. Course is wild. Loved that aspect.

Boy, when the City of Tucson lets Fred Enke start watering the fairways again, this course will be beautiful! Not a big fan of dormant crud. And those thinned out areas that front the approaches to the greens.

I enjoyed the mix of left/right doglegs and the absence of straight holes (except #18)! The par 5 layouts are very challenging in that they narrow down near the greens so it makes you decide on a risk/reward 2nd shot to try for the green. I chose to layup on every par 5 (except #18).

local knowledge will help you score better, mainly on back nine. greens were pretty good. shot accuracy important!

This course is challenging, but also has a few holes that are easier than others. Enjoy the scenery and the greens. The only thing that could make it better is if the cart paths were smoother.

The staff was very courteous when I arrived and sent me out early. Some of the holes have a fairly tight fairway
to quick greens. Some nice views. I would certainly play here again.

I had an 8:00 tee time, but play was delayed until 9:15 due to frost. Since I was a single, the starter got me out first off number one, and I never slowed down. Finished at 11:30 and had a great round.

It was a windy and cold day but the course was great. The greens are nice it's a real challenging course for the a first timer.

This course was a very pleasant surprise. They have over-seeded the tees and greens - the fairways are dormant light brown. It is a very appealing look.

The greens are spectacular. They roll true and there was not a green that was not in A1 shape.

The big drawback here is pace of play. I teed off at 1:00pm on Dec 23. There were twosomes in front of our twosome and the play was very very slow. I left the course after 9 (paid for 18) as the play was 2.5 hrs to that point.

They need a marshalling presence on the course, but I was told that they are cutting back expenses. Penny wise, pound foolish. If I had paid a full fee, I'd be annoyed. As I got a hot deal, I was OK with leaving after 9. I certainly would never pay full rates here as it seems that pace of play is a common complaint.

Pace of play was extremely slow. It took us 5 1/2 hours to play a round. The threesome in front of us quit around the 7th hole. No ranger was in place. We realize the city must make money but they need to not send out players every seven minutes and they must put a ranger on this course! Course itself was in great shape.

Played this course Sunday Oct 18th, 2015. I was told it was 2 weeks after reseeding and the course was in the best shape I have ever seen. The greens were a little slow but it was a few days of rain that happened the days leading up to our play. Id play again anytime! ALso helps I got a great deal online!

So we booked a foursome ... Course looked great . Greens were nice ... But the pace of play was horrible didn't get to finish the round ..... Took 3hrs to play nine holes come on.. I know y'all need money but you while not over book..... Really do need a ranger out there ....

Tough course for intermediates. Wayward shots on narrow fairways find desert easily. Long reaches for fairway grass from many white tee boxes. Fairway and green grass areas great for summer end. Many tee boxes under repair now. Tough to walk poor paths between holes - advise cart included fee unless you have mountain goat ambitions. Still liked the challenge this course offers to upgrade your efforts.

Loved the course and views. The fairways and greens were in great condition. The cart paths, however, were terrible. Mostly Gravel and at times you didn't know where to go. More signage needed to some of the holes. At one time we had no idea where to go when we got off the green.

Course was in excellent condition. Close to home. Very economical.

This is the best condition I've seen this course in for some years! Well done.

Best course condition i've seen at this facility in the 18 years l'be been playing.

I have played this course a few times the last 18 months and it's in the better conditions it's been. Course has a lot of difficulty for my level but it's really fun and the staff it's really nice the only bad thing is that they don't have beverage car on the course.

The course was in good shape and the weather was hot but we love it in Tucson.
Staff was helpful and we were able to tee off a little ahead of time. The round took 31/2 hours and was fun.
