Bad customer service
The lady at the front was extremely rude. I really expected a different experience at this course for our party of 4, I will not be returning ever again. She also had plenty of bad words to say about the golfnow app. I don't care about your opinion make it an enjoyable experience when you are representing your company.
Strong desert course
Course is in the best condition its been in the last 2-3 years. Of paticular note is that the bunkers were well prepared and had a sufficient amount of sand. The greens were good to excellent and the fairways were in fairly good condition as well, with a minimum of bare spots and only a few had standing water or overly wet areas. Whether to attribute this to the new management is questionable,; however, it does appear that shop employees are happy and there seems to be more attention to the course by maintenance personnel. Overall, a good experience!
Fred Enke first timer
Impressed. We played on extremely windy day, , Good pace for mid day Saturday. Greens were in good shape, not to many spots that needed repair. Better than average muni, requires local knowledge to score well as a first timer. Shot makers course that requires accuracy with long irons, hybrids and fairway woods to score. Not a bomb the driver and hack it out course. Looking forward to playing it again. Great walking workout.

Nice layout. A lot of target golf required. Greens were fast but did not "roll out" which made them excellent. Fairways need overseeded! Not plush.
Dont play it without someone who has the first time.
Fun to play desert course for reasonable rate
Cart paths and carts not in good shape. Course conditions were as good or better the the other citycourses in Tucson.. I will play sveral more times before we leave, it is a good test and well designed course,
Great desert course
Enkephalins golf course is a limited fairway course, meaning it's mostly desert with target locations for landing your ball. Intimidation abounds as you look out from the Teebox over long expanses of desert. The emphasis here is on ball striking and if you can strike the ball well the course is very playable but woe to the golfer of many errant shots. Course condition is excellent and the greens are challenging without being overpowering. This course is a good test of golfers ability to strike the ball and keep it in play. I would recommend it to anybody looking for a good and enjoyable challenge to their game.
Great Course but in Need
The greens were very good but most of the course needed some attention. It is much better than last year, but would be the best if it got some more attention....carts are on their last legs. This course is a very challenging test and forces you to be accurate.
Challenging, but not beautiful
I like this course for its lengthy holes. The difficulty is moderate. It is truly a desert course, very drab and dry, not a great course if you love luscious green landscapes, but overall there is beauty here with the mountain backdrops. I recommend playing this course.
its a challenging course some narrow fairways and sloped fairways
i was pleasantly suprised last time i played here it was in bad shape, greens were in great condition fairways in decent shape enjoyed playing this course more challenging than other city courses
Enjoyable desert golf
Fun. Loved it. Hills and dales and desert. Good greens. A little rough around the edges, but lots of fun. Kind of quirky in a very enjoyable way. Nice scenery.
Great desert course
Fred Enke seems to be improving all the time. Greens are in good condition and maintenance is watering them. Staff is easy to work with and talk too. Just a really pleasant time at this course and it is not my first.
Enke
Very challenging course. City of Tucson needs to give this gem some tender loving care. They should bring it up to the standards of Randolph and Dell Urich.
Keep it in the fairway!
Great fast greens, good tees, and great rolling fairways. Just keep your drive in the fairway and out of the desert. Pay attention to the layout of each hole for best results.
True desert course
I really enjoyed this municipal course. My buddy and I liked the contours and the overall layout of the holes. Some other "city" courses here try to hide the desert aspect of the area. Fred Enke embraces the desert and does a good job incorporating the natural field in play.
none
Only problem was the fairway conditions. Which is to be expected for winter. Very enjoyable golf for the money. Being retired that is a help. Thanks Merry Xmas.
Tucson's most challenging city course.
Easily Tucson's most challenging city course. Lots of open desert. High lost ball potential. Beautiful grass. Fast greens.
THE WOMEN WHO WORKED THE PRO SHOP WAS A NASTY PERSON.... SHE COULD NOT BE MORE UN CUSTOMER FRIENDLY AND NASTY THAT WE WALKED OUT AND DID NOT PLAY...
THE WOMEN WHO WORKED THE PRO SHOP WAS NASTY CONDESCENDING AND A HER ATTITUDE CAUSED US TO WALK OUT AND GO PLAY AT ANOTHER COURSE....
I CANT UNDERSTAND HOW SHE IS WORKING AT A GOLF COURSE, SHE SHOULD LEARN HOW TO BE CUSTOMER FRIENDLY AND NOT BRING HER UNHAPPINESS FROM HER LIFE TO HER JOB.....
Course was in very good condition. Tees were set back (I guess they will be moved up for the weekend golfers).
Golf was great. Scoring left much to be desired - but that was the golfer.
Nice Target Course
This is definitely a course where accuracy matters more than distance. I used every club in my bag during my round. I'll definitely come back.
