Overall Well Done
Course layout was challenging with undulating fairways and greens. Pitstop for food was fantastic. The ladies were incredible and worked hard.
Poor excuse for a golf course
This “course” is an embarrassment. Fairways and greens weren’t bad, but large swaths of turf between segments of fairway were plain dirt, often running away from playing areas into bushes or desert. Greens were fair, No direction signs from one hole to the next. Cart paths hard to differentiate from desert, no direction signs between holes. We had signed up for 18, but quit after 9 in disgust. Not worth the trip—stick with Randolph or Dell Urich courses for a better experience.
Wonderful surprise.
Decided to play this course solely because of its location and available tee times. On a trip where my wife and I played multiple other semi private golf corses around Tucson. Wasn’t expecting much from a city operated course. We were pleasantly surprised. Greens were very fast and rolled true. Tee boxes and fairways were well kept and green. Challenging layout with interesting holes. This place was such a great value at a fraction of the price of the other places we played that were very similar experiences. I’d recommend this course to anyone except the most snobbish person that can’t get over playing a municipal track. (They’d love it to if they didn’t know)
Course great, Golfnow stinks. Made reservation for 12th in error wanted 10th. No refund nor credit never, ever, again.
Should never happen
Your review questions are based on us seeing the entire course. This was not the case.
On the third hole, the cart broke down at the tee box. I called and was told the a ranger would be there shortly. After 20 minutes, I tried calling again but could not reach the pro shop. Finally, I got someone on new reservations, but he could not get through to the pro shop either.
I tried the cart again, and it worked, getting us to the green of the third hole (a short par 3). However, the cart would not go again. After waiting another 20 minutes, it started again. I took it back to the starter and requested a rain check, which I received.
A beautiful day of golf totally messed up.
Great desert course
Tees and fairways in great condition but one or two greens were a little bumpy
4.2324 stars
probably the most unique tucson city golf course
“hilly” - substantial elevation changes on many holes
greens were good but fairways just okay, putting is very challenging on several of the undulating greens
lots of sand and desert washes to gobble up your shots
i shot one over with 3 birdies

Love this course. Very good condition and amazing mountain views.
Poor Course Management
There are never any rangers cruising the course to maintain pace of play. After I spoke to a starter at the turn about our 2.5 hour nine hole play, they said they’d send someone out to move everyone along. Nothing changed. We never got to finish the round because it would have been 5 hours (started @1pm) and was getting dark.
Ground is too soft. There's mud on the ball on almost every shot.
