Not impressed!
We received a discounted price for this course, thankfully. The greens are terrible, the fairways are hard dead grass which are painted green. No working toilets in clubhouse. I will not be back.
Fairways are terrible
This course is in horrible shape, fairways are gone. They are just dead or dormant grass that is matted down, they are dying it to make it appear to look green, they are absolutely horrendous. Knowing now what I know I wouldn't pay $30 for this course. The greens aren't much better, patchy at best, the only decent greens were 16 - 18.
Terrible condition
We paid $100 for 2 people to play on a Sunday and the course was in terrible shape. What little grass in the fairways was rock hard and the greens….well let just say we’re in the same shape as the fairways! No working indoor toilets so we had to use port a potties which to me is the absolute worst! Pace of play was ridiculous as we had to wait on every hole after 9 holes we played the front nine again because the back nine was backed up by like 3 groups! If I would have played $25-$30 for each of us I would not be writing this review because you get what you pay for but to be charged $50 per 18 holes was ridiculous! We won’t be back until things change for the better!
Bad shape
We paid $98 plus tax for 2 people for 18 holes. The cart back had a huge tear in it. No working restrooms at all! Had to use port a potties which I absolutely hate. We had a foursome ahead of us that acted like pro players on every green so we waited a lot. Ended playing the front nine twice because the back nine was so backed up.
We paid good money to golf a course is such poor shape. I understand it’s winter in the desert but no one seems to care for this course at all.
We won’t be back!
Fun layout, good pace of play, interesting fairways.
Interesting fairway conditions as the course used an alternative to over-seeding them. Looks like the fairways were treated to allow the Bermuda grass to stay somewhat grassy rather than going dormant. If you like fairly tight Bermuda grass fairways you will find them playable. Extra roll for sure.
Prepare for a 5-6 hr round
This has happened here before, but I decided to try again because I like this course. Big mistake. 2.5 hours in and I was ready to tee off on the 8th hole. Absolutely no excuse for this, busy or not there was nobody enforcing pace of play. It’s a known issue here, so why not just sell fewer tee times?
Not in very good shape this year
The fairways are not overseeded and are rock hard and fast. The greens are not nearly as good as past years. Spotty and grainy.
Needs love
Not even close to being in as good of shape as Randolph North or Dell Urich. The price is fair for what you are getting right now. It’s a fun layout but it just needs some love to get in better shape.
Shame on Tucson!
Played in March and was excellent. So I came back. It is understood the paint the fairway green was in its cycle. However, with over seeding the greens on the front were terrible and on the back just a bit better. Fairway had roll but impossible to hit off. Non fairway lies were a wing and a prayer. When the course conditions are this poor how can the cost be so high. Won’t be back!
Had a great time but the course conditions are kind of poor. First time playing but the fairways might as well be dirt. And the greens were not in good shape either. If I got it on a hot deal it it would be okay but I paid full price for it. The staff were nice and the putting and pitching areas were pretty good too. Great course layout too
