Course and layout

Poor course layout - sign for next tee not good. On the 18th hole you go over bridge and you are at red tees. Nowhere after finishing 17does it tell you to go to the right for other tee boxes . Very confusing would never play it again.

Decent golf

Fairways and greens in very good shape, but if you miss the fairway, even by a few feet, there is no first cut, only hard pan, so your ball goes scurrying away from the fairway. Not much in the way of sand in the bunkers, but I guess that’s why you should stay out of them. I’d play it again.

Great Value

The courses greens and fairways are in good condition. Cart paths, rough, and sand trap could use some care. If one stays out of trouble, its all good. The course was a great value.

Proshop very rude

I made full payment thru golfnow, and confirmed no payment due at course. They wanted to charge me an additional fee of $45.00 to bring the payment up to full price. Repeatively told I'm not going to golf for free, or half price. I was told that I couldn't pay $25 to golf anywhere ( which I do all the time thru golfnow) . To which I responded "don't tell me how much I pay for golf" you don't know. To which she again said "your not going to play for free"

So I tried to tell her that the reviews for the course all said the same thing "rude management or workers . She then cuts me off and yells at me "

Yes the customer is always right unless there they're wrong ". On my way out was was told to *uck off. Really nice person. Then I cancelled the golf, because what else was I supposed to do. Then golfnow tells me they I can't get a refund because it was to late to be refunded. Well see how that goes, and I though going golfing was supposed to help with stress.

Extremely Unprofessional Treatment Toward New Golfer – Very Disappointing Experience

My wife and I visited Silverbell Golf Course hoping to enjoy a positive day together and introduce her to golf for the first time. Instead, we experienced some of the most unprofessional and discouraging treatment we’ve ever encountered at a golf course.

When we arrived at the first tee, a staff member immediately told my wife she couldn’t play because she didn’t have her own bag or clubs. I asked to see this rule in writing, and he couldn’t provide it. After checking both the Silverbell and Tucson City Golf websites myself, there is no policy stating that every golfer must have their own clubs. We had already paid over $130 for the round, and this “rule” seemed to be something made up on the spot.

Although they eventually allowed us to continue, the staff member followed us and watched us at multiple holes, making the experience extremely uncomfortable. Despite the slow group playing in front of us—and the players paired with us struggling—we kept pace the entire time.

After the 9th hole, the same staff member told my wife she could no longer play because she was “too slow,” even though the delays were clearly caused by the group ahead of us. Instead of managing the real issue, they singled out my wife, who was simply trying the sport for the first time. This behavior felt discriminatory and completely unnecessary.

What was supposed to be a fun and meaningful day turned into embarrassment, stress, and frustration because of poor staff judgment and nonexistent policies being enforced. Silverbell Golf Course failed to provide basic professionalism, courtesy, or consistency in their operations.

This course needs serious training and oversight, especially when it comes to how they treat beginners and new players. I will not be returning, and I hope management takes this type of behavior seriously so other guests don’t go through the same experience.

Disappointed

Fun course, but the experience was disappointing. Our group felt singled out by staff throughout the round, apparently just because we were playing with women. We were repeatedly approached and told that “people were complaining,” even though we were keeping pace and following etiquette. It killed the vibe and made the round uncomfortable. Golf should be welcoming for everyone, and this really missed the mark.

Sad it is now like this

Played this course many years ago and loved it then. The course was in poor shape now and dire need of care. Greens slow, lots of dirt in the fairways. Spend the extra 20 dollars and go to a better course. Would not play again. The staff though, was very nice and helpful.
