you get what you pat for
2-3 holes had so much bird doo on the greens could not even attempt to putt. cart falling apart. course not well maintained. i guess this is what you get for a city course.
This course is a nice challenge.
The course was in pretty good shape. It is fairly long but rewards good shots. There was lots of coot dropings on many of the greens. That is the only bad thing I have to say about this course. And it was bad.
course in good shape
lots of ducks, making a mess on greens, other than that course was in great shape, greens really fast, and traps were decent, not hard pan
Mostly favorable
Okay for a municipal course. First time at the course and I'd have been lost without directions from the guys with which I played. Some cart paths are kind of beat up and if you get off the fairways, the turf needs water.
Lots of other golfers, so course is obviously popular and probably a great bargain compared to other courses in the area.
This course has a lot of ducks. That means to much duck on th greens
Pace of play too slow we did complain it did speed up thank you
A Great Muni
My wife and I have only played the course very early in the morning. If we are not the first off, the regular foursomes of elderly gentlemen always let us play through. The course itself is in quite good shape considering that it is a very busy muni: the fairways are quite lush, we only played in winter; the greens play quick and true; the tees are spaced appropriately for my wife and me to compete fairly. All munis in Tucson allow walking, which is why we played them, and found Silverbell to be our favourite. Our only complaint is that most of the bunkers at Silverbell, and the other munis in Tucson, frequently have only a patina of sand which makes playing out of them extremely challenging.
Good course, but bird droppings are objectionable.
This is an average muni course, and offers some challenge to moderate skill levels. Big objection to the course is the abundance of mud hens which leave an unacceptable mess on and around the greens. Something needs to be done about this, and it is hoped the company that begins operation of the Tucson muni courses February 1, will take care of it.
FLAT
THIS IS A GOOD TRACK FOR MY WIFE & I TO PLAY AS IT IS FLAT . THE GREENS ARE ALWAYS DECENT.
FROM THE WHITE TEES THE COURSE IS CHALLENGING FOR A 73 YR OLD WITH A 7 HCP. THE 16TH HOLE IS THE TOUGHEST IN TUCSON. 200 PLUS YDS WITH WATER TO THE LEFT & BUNKER TO RIGHT FRONT OF GREEN. DIFFICULT TO HIT THE GREEN OF THE TEE & STAY ON. WITH SOME GROOMING THIS COURSE COULD BE A GREAT MUNI . PRACTICE FACILITY IS A GOOD ONE FOR THE RESIDENTS OF TUCSON.
Very challenging and great greens
I did notice the golf carts are showing their age and my cart had a flat tire half way through round. Mantenance is difficult, I realize, but having cafe open, sand traps maintained (not just mud base), and upgrade golf carts on a regular basis. Thanks
Fairways great for a city course. Greens were a little slow but true.
Nice layout. Great condition. Pace was quick for a Sunday.
Had a great time.
Good shape, good value.
The course was in great shape, the greens were excellent, the fairways, good, the rough, well rough. Overall good shape, weather was a little windy. Other than that a GREAT day, and a good value too.
Much improved condition from previous years......
SB was in better condition than it was last year at this time. Greens were a little shaggy & slower than usual due to overseeding; will get better with time.
Too bad the location across the wash from the water treatment plant affects the air quality (it smells) particularly on the last 4 or 5 holes.
Forgiving Course
I have played here many times and the water along holes 16 & 17 smelled a lot better than it has in the past so they must have done something finally to start cleaning it up some. Prior it was smelling and looking pretty bad. There still is a disgusting smell coming from some type of pump enclosure at hole 18 tee box.
Average overall.
Silverbell is an avg track that could be much more. Round was quick.
This course stinks, literally, it smells horrible!
I liked the layout of this course, it's wide open style is nice. It also has some nice water holes. The main issue is the sewer smell. It is very bad. They also had Cart Path Only rules in effect which was not presented when scheduling the tee time. I understand this time of year reseeding and what not, but let your customers know ahead of time so they may make the appropriate decision to play at your course according to their preferences. Due to CP only the pace of play was super slow and twosomes where forced to group up, another piece of info that would have been nice to know when scheduling the tee time (which was made a day prior). Course has potential, however I was disappointed.
