Fairways great for a city course. Greens were a little slow but true.
Nice layout. Great condition. Pace was quick for a Sunday.
Had a great time.
Good shape, good value.
The course was in great shape, the greens were excellent, the fairways, good, the rough, well rough. Overall good shape, weather was a little windy. Other than that a GREAT day, and a good value too.
Beautiful Fairways
Wide open course with well-taken care of fairways. Greens were hard and fast for the most part. Bunkers were mostly wet and crusty.
Much improved condition from previous years......
SB was in better condition than it was last year at this time. Greens were a little shaggy & slower than usual due to overseeding; will get better with time.
Too bad the location across the wash from the water treatment plant affects the air quality (it smells) particularly on the last 4 or 5 holes.
Long par 4s
Generally like the course. Do not like the odors that sometimes come from the water treatment plant.
Forgiving Course
I have played here many times and the water along holes 16 & 17 smelled a lot better than it has in the past so they must have done something finally to start cleaning it up some. Prior it was smelling and looking pretty bad. There still is a disgusting smell coming from some type of pump enclosure at hole 18 tee box.
Average overall.
Silverbell is an avg track that could be much more. Round was quick.
nice layout
course is comming around. Overseeding is done. Course will be great in a few weeks
This course stinks, literally, it smells horrible!
I liked the layout of this course, it's wide open style is nice. It also has some nice water holes. The main issue is the sewer smell. It is very bad. They also had Cart Path Only rules in effect which was not presented when scheduling the tee time. I understand this time of year reseeding and what not, but let your customers know ahead of time so they may make the appropriate decision to play at your course according to their preferences. Due to CP only the pace of play was super slow and twosomes where forced to group up, another piece of info that would have been nice to know when scheduling the tee time (which was made a day prior). Course has potential, however I was disappointed.
Nice round for the money
The first rough was much better to play than Randolph North that we recently played. Fairly easy course for a 19 handicap.
Course ready for overseeding-skinned down
Silverbell generally is in good shape but because it will be opverseeded they have skinned it down. The greens are hard fast and bumpy right now. Next month after the overseeding, I am sure it will be in good condition again.
Good mix of easy, average and difficult holes.
Course is at the beginning of the transition period between summer and the cooler season so fairways were just average, if a bit sparse, and the greens were shaved so putting was more of a challenge because of different speeds and different levels of growth. Overall, the course was average but with a little attention, watering and overseeding, it will turn into a nice track.
ALWAYS IN GOOD CONDITION!
I play silverbell more than any other course in tucson. I drive passed several courses to go to this one because the place is just peaceful and always kept up.
Best Tucson City Course
1st time playing Silverbell. Great city course, very walk-able. About 2 weeks away from overseeding so it wasn't in the best of shape but not many dead spots in the fairways. Greens were slow and bumpy but expected this time of year at a city course. Well worth $25 or less for a round. Great mountain views and challenging holes when the winds pick up. A handful of water holes as well. Will definitely play again. Played as a single in just over 3 hours. Started on 10 and after getting back to 1 I had 2 groups that let me play through. Got slowed down at 6. Could have been under 3 hours very easily. Probably a 4 hour round with a group
This course always plays very slow. No marshalling and thick rough causes undue time looking for balls
The course has a great layout but plays slow due to lost balls in the rough and no marshalling. Whoever runs the mowers needs lessons. Very uneven mowing, either scalped or left too high. The greens are not well maintained. the ball bounces on even the slightest easy putts
The course overall was in very good condition
I enjoyed Silverbell because of the rewards for good shots
Rough a little thick and the greens were slow, needs cutting.
The course is nice and the pace was good, but the course needs a little attention. (TLC)
Good value for the $$
Overall, a nice experience. I enjoyed playing on grass! Views of the mountains were beautiful, but some issues with the odor on some of the holes. The greens need some attention, but can't beat the price for 18 holes and a golf cart.
