City course, you get what you pay for
Person in proshop extremely rude as was the starter. I was a single and it seemed to perplex the starter. So instead of letting me go off of hole 1 as scheduled he had me start on 10 with the comment of, "I'm gonna let you go but you have to be hustling this whole round." Which is weird because of the 3 other groups out there I was backed up on every hole but I guess city courses aren't too worried about customer service.
great course!
great city course for beginners and some experienced golfers
course is in awesome shape.. some work needs to be done on some tee boxes and most fairways where in good shape.
staff is awesome. great value for the money... "Go Play"
Needs attention
This course needs attention. The greens are in decent shape but the fairways are in need of some serious care, there are mud puddles from broken sprinklers, dry areas, longer grass and shorter grass. The distance markers are clear and well placed. The club house and bar and grill are in worse shape than an old Burger King. Its a city course where I believe the city must have forgotten about. Overall I would say if you want to get out and just hit balls then for the price its not too bad, but if you want to play a nice course this is definitely not he one!
Greens were good , fair way needed mowing badly
Greens were in good shape , the fair way need to be mowed badly , hit a good shot in the right side of the fairways , and the ball couldent be found due to deep grass. A par 3 on the back side was full of water in the bunker. I like this course fix those things and it would be great . I plan to golf there during the summer if the price is good . Great staff it was fun
one of the better city courses.
It was a early tee time so we got right on the greens were in very good shape no dead or brown patches I will play this course again
Just OK
This is a very old course with surprisingly few shade trees. The greens and fairways were decent, but the outlying areas were full of old dead palm trees, and dead other vegetation. There was an old adobe structure that appeared to be a storage area for junk and should be torn down unless it has historical value. If it does there should be a story about it. It was not an enticing picture, in my mind. The staff were friendly, but the beer was at least a dollar over priced. I probably will not play it again, even at the rate I payed this time.
Course is long
6900+ yards from the whites. !st time I played it. Shot well but made some bogies due to length of holes. Starts with 430 yard par 4 and there are 455, 420, and others over 400. I like the layout, was remodeled in 2006. There are a couple par 3's in the 200 range also. Fairly decent for a city course.
Best city course in Tucson
Silverbell has a great layout and the course is in good-shape. Despite the tight-lies from pitching distances on some holes, the greens are decent and the fairways are in good condition. For the value, a very good golfing experience.
Dream
Tee times too close together. Slow play
Good value at Golf Now pricing. Need to rotate pin placements more often
This course has long par fours!
I thought the fairways and greens were in good shape. Of course, get off the fairways and the course is rather grim. Lesson: Stay on the fairways!
Decent.
The traps have been deepened making them harder. They need sand though, not concrete.
Friendly municipal course
We had a fun afternoon and there were very few on the course. Got to play with just the two of us. This is a great course for beginner to intermediate. A few long holes and a few short. Good grass fairways, not lots of desert sand. Nice staff.
Great
Course was in great shape.... we will play there again soon
Nice greens. Good pace of play
Course was in good condition. Nice greens. Generous fairways. Moderate difficulty.
just another city course.
I am not big fan of city courses. First they are over priced for what get and the staff is not very customer friendly.I have had very bad experiences on city courses.
Park style course with tee to green fairways in desert
Nice park style course with some interesting water holes for a city course. Greens and fairways in good shape. Some target type holes that some experience helps with club selection. In mid summer fairways can be dried out.
This is a great value for the money.
A forgiving course that makes you think. Several great risk and reward holes. The greens were a little slow but had some character to them. Overall for early spring golf well worth the fees.
Course is fun to play.
Course conditions are good with fairways and greens maintained. As with any city course, the pace of play was very slow. No range personnel out on course. Threesome in front of us, two were giving golf lessons to the third person (really!) as they played which delayed pace of play.
Nice layout with some character.
Challenging par 3"s, nice fairways, tee boxes a little long but okay.
