Oak Valley Golf Club
About
This course used to be considered a hidden gem. Now, Oak Valley Golf Course in Beaumont is an off-the-beaten-path known reasonable joy. Stopping on the way from Los Angeles to Palm Springs for a golf detour is no fool's play. Not with the fast greens, dramatic elevation changes and swerving fairways available at Oak Valley in Beaumont.
A Lee Schmidt and Brian Curley design, Oak Valley is probably best known for greens that are anything but desert typical. Speed is the name of the game here, with a tap sometimes too much on a downhill putt.
Recognition does not travel that quickly. It took a decade for Oak Valley to get a four star rating from Golf Digest. Once it did, Beaumont suddenly became a golf stopping spot on the Palm Springs express. Now, you're considered a smart golfer if you linger on the way to Palm Springs.
"It's a nice getaway from the crowds in the desert, as well as some of the other, more populated golf areas," head pro Scott Arnold said. "It's almost like being in the country. No houses line the fairways. Each hole is different. And because of the way it's laid out, you often can't even see another hole from the one you're playing."

Oak Valley back 9 Photo submitted by VICRAZ7 on 12/09/2013
Fun and Challenging course
One of my favorite courses. Price is fair and the course is usually is great condition. The greens need a little work on the front nine right now, but over all really great.
Tough greens
I have never played a course that didn't have a drink cart, makes no sense at all, it's a huge profit center.
Always Enjoyable
This is a wonderful golf course. Depending on the tees you choose and the wind it can be very demanding. We had very fast greens and interesting pin placements, made for some entertaining putts. Some fairways need a little attention. Perhaps the over seeding didn't take as well as expected. Overall just a great course to play worth the drive from Palm Desert.
fast greens
second time i've played here.did not realize what a great course this is.fairly forgiving fairways. greens were fast and tough to read, had some weird breaks in some.great views from most holes on the course. if windy, this could be tough to control ball, but it was calm this day.would definitely go back to play this course.
Course review
Course was very challenging due to narrow fairways and high winds but it is well maintained and beautiful scenerery
Oak Valley fun and challenging
I played with my wife and was paired up with a couple from Canada. Had a great time but it got a bit cold at the end. The course was in great shape and really enjoyed playing there. I would highly recommend that be a golf stop if in this area. The staff was very friendly and the facility was well ran with friendly staff.
Good set up but greens are in terrible shape.
Pace of play was terrible. No Marshall to be seen. Often 4 groups on the same hole. Greens are in terrible shape. No a even spot anywhere. Playing lesson was holding groups behind. Never wave anyone through even though there were no one ahead of them. I am just glad this instructor was not teaching my kids etiquette.
This course had fast greens.
We enjoyed the course. A little wind made it more of a challenge. Some elevation changes made club selection a little tricky for a first timer.
Starter needs to relax
Awesome course condition like always, other than fact the starter needs to relax. My friends and I are all pretty fast paced players, we have no trouble keeping up with the group in front of us. Which by the way, we never even saw the group ahead of. The group behind us fell 3-4 holes possible even 5 at times. So Mr. Old man starter, you need to relax the next time we come to play.
Five Star golf course
Having played here before, we were looking forward to coming back and were not disappointed. Great course in great condition with super friendly staff. Thanks to Travis in the pro shop who cut down my putter in super quick time and helped me to a birdie, birdie, par, finish !
Hidden Gem
Looks a bit touch and go when you first arrive, but the layout is fantastic. Amazing value for the money and would definitely play this course again.
A good variety of golf holes
Course is in very good condition and offers a good
variety of holes that make you want to play over and
over again.
A Real Gem
Hard to believe we could get a tee time two days in advance at 7:45AM...When we arrived the told us we could go early and as a twosome if we desired. 3 1/2 hours later we were in our car.
Perfect
Tough green complexes...you better be able to chip and putt to score here.
Plush
Oak Valley in my opinion is one of the best layouts within 30 miles of Palm Springs. Not a super long course, but a course that challenges you to hit it straight as the course is lined with tons of bunkers and a good amount of water.
From tee to green, this course is very well maintained and is a must play whether you live in Los Angeles or Palm Springs.
Very good challenging course
This was a beautiful scenic course. It was in goid shape but the tee boxes were a bit furry. Other than that, a great golf experience for the price.
Great views
Great course only complaints. Tee boxes were not mowed very shaggy and greens were not mowed very well and had been punched recently and were bumpy. Expected a little more for the price but beautiful course!
Golf Bliss
Played in the 3rd group out on a Friday morning. Course was in great shape and playing conditions were ideal. I got matched up with 2 other singles and we played as a 3-some. We could have played in about 3.5 hours but we had to wait on the 4-some ahead of us on just about every hole. Even so, we finished in four hours. I drove about an hour to get to the course, but this is such a good golf course, it is worth the drive.
This course will challenge all skill levels
Morning greens run true and with good pace. Course and greens are well maintained. It appears that most golfers playing this course repair their fairway and green divots; a rarity anymore, unfortunately. Pace of play is always good and a course marshall comes by frequently.
Clubhouse facilities need an upgrade, but overall a great course in the Inland Empire!
Excellent experience!
I highly recommend this course to anyone that wants a challenge. The course was in great shape and enjoyed my whole experience at Oak Valley.
Oak Valley - hidden gem.
Good course conditions...greens excellent overall, fairways pretty good. Extremely friendly starter and polite golfers on course today, allowing my group of 1 to play through! Will return again, especially at this rate $.
