Oak Valley Golf Club

I haven't played much in the IE (about 5courses) but this has been the best course I've played overall. Fairways were challenging and rewarding. Greens were great! I didn't play my best, but I had fun with the layout of the course. For the price, this place is definitely worth every penny.

Let me start by saying the service was great and friendly! The restaurant is finally open again and priced fairly. The course on the other hand was really sub par. Greens were firm and fast but extremely bumpy. Bunkers were in disrepair. Tee boxes were not in good shape and lots of uneven spots. Fairways were alright but just inconsistent with bad lies even in the middle of the fairway. There are gopher and ground squirrel mounds everywhere especially in the roughs. It was just really disappointing to see such a great golf course fall into such condition. I would not recommend this course and won't be back until improvements are made. I know it is winter time and perhaps in the sitting and summer it'll be better but they really need to work at it.

I've played this course many times in the past 23 years. The greens were rolling fast and pin placements where not ideal causing me to miss several birdie putts and even short par putts. One problem on the 6th th par3 was when I pulled my ball out of the cup it cut my finger and had to put a bandaid on. I looked into the cup and it seems that someone was jamming the flag hard enough to break plastic off and make sharp edges. Hole after hole I noticed many of the cups someone did the same thing causing the cups to have broken plastic inside. Not a big deal I guess

We've played the course a few times in the past but always in October with good conditions for fairways and greens. Not so this time, but maybe because it's December? Fairways were rough and dry and damaged. As were the greens. We played at noon on a Wednesday and there was nobody there. Really. Cruised around as a twosome playing two balls each in a little over three hours. Never met up with anyone. Had to create preferred lies on just about every shot due to otherwise unplayable conditions. We did have a good time and made the best of it. I like the course layout and will play again next year if conditions are better.

Course conditions almost excellent and improving over past several months. Only thing missing is a marshall (with authority) to monitor slow play and proper golf cart positioning related to parking near greens.

Wonderful layout, was not in the best of shape but we still had fun.

Has always been one of my favorites but current course conditions make me say it’s currently overpriced in general. I got a great deal that day but in most cases it’s 70-80 a round and that definitely calls for better conditions IMO

Played a long time ago, always a tough, but fair layout even from white tees! Greens were very good, fairways were good and firm, not plush but weather is changing to brownish, but very played and have some medium softness to hit down and get fair play. Plus a gentleman, probably the head of course maintenance was out filling in divots on each fairway, ensuring good play ability. The only negative was bunkers that our not standard sand like upscale course but dirt and pebbles and dome big rocks. Inconsistent on many holes as some were ok to play. Staff was friendly and very welcoming and interactive, the new dining area staff and environment is upgraded from before and also great attitudes. We had lunch and was good. Top players can really challenge themselves from Black tees at over 7000 yards and Blue are 6700. White are at 6300 with a 130 slope. Be conservative on choice to enjoy your round. Great deal at $65 for Seniors! Overall I will play again.

Course in decent shape, enjoyable challenging layout. But we ran into 3-4 groups who did not play ready golf or too teed from too far back. Watching green play with golfers lining up their puts one at a time and fairway "Honors" was agonizing: took over 5 hours and we were allowed to "play thru" 3 groups.

Play your correct tee box. You might reconsider your love of this game. Enjoy!!

Overall the course was in decent shape - the fairways were recovering from overseeding and the greens consistent and quick. Lots of interesting holes and elevation changes. Would definitely play again.

Enjoyed the course but expected better overall conditions. Would like to play once again when it improves.
