Oak Valley Golf Club

       About
This course used to be considered a hidden gem. Now, Oak Valley Golf Course in Beaumont is an off-the-beaten-path known reasonable joy. Stopping on the way from Los Angeles to Palm Springs for a golf detour is no fool's play. Not with the fast greens, dramatic elevation changes and swerving fairways available at Oak Valley in Beaumont.
A Lee Schmidt and Brian Curley design, Oak Valley is probably best known for greens that are anything but desert typical. Speed is the name of the game here, with a tap sometimes too much on a downhill putt.
Recognition does not travel that quickly. It took a decade for Oak Valley to get a four star rating from Golf Digest. Once it did, Beaumont suddenly became a golf stopping spot on the Palm Springs express. Now, you're considered a smart golfer if you linger on the way to Palm Springs.
"It's a nice getaway from the crowds in the desert, as well as some of the other, more populated golf areas," head pro Scott Arnold said. "It's almost like being in the country. No houses line the fairways. Each hole is different. And because of the way it's laid out, you often can't even see another hole from the one you're playing."

Best condition in years
Best condition it has been in years. Fairways and greens. Rough is brutal.
still not great value for money
Don’t pay rack rate. Very cool layout but crappy teeboxes and overall very medium
conditions. Carts have no GPS but do have speed governors and restricted areas. Carts are required as well, which sucks for those in good enough shape to walk.
Beautiful course
Enjoyed this course immensely, intermediate level golfer.
With that being said this course is difficult enough to challenge individuals of all levels. Greens are great, fairways are In great condition, and the rough was rough. Don’t miss the fairway, it’ll be a long day. I will be returning without hesitation.
Much improved
The course has more grass on it than I have seen in 13 years. They must have overseeded this year. Greens were great. The tees loaded with thick grass they have not cut in a week. I use a 3.25 inch tee and had to barely putbit in the ground in order to hit driver without grass behind the ball. The rough everwhere was unplayable. Lost balls just off the fairway. Not fun but the bright side is when its cut it will be the best conditions ever seen at this plays. Fairways like Sierra lakes
"Challenging Fun at Oak Valley Golf Course!"
I recently played a round at Oak Valley Golf Course and I have to say, it was a fantastic experience overall. For the price, this course offers great value with a fun and engaging layout that keeps you on your toes. There are definitely some challenging holes that will test your skills, especially if you stray from the fairways. If you find yourself in the long rough, prepare for a search—losing a ball is a common occurrence!
Hitting out of the rough can be quite the adventure, adding an extra layer of excitement to the game. My only complaint was that the greens were a bit bumpy from aeration and sanding, and they felt soft and slow. Additionally, the tee boxes were a little longer than usual due to overseeding. But to be fair, this is pretty typical for courses this time of year.
Despite these minor issues, I had a great time and will definitely be back to enjoy another round at Oak Valley. Highly recommend it for anyone looking for a challenging and fun day on the course!
Good Sunday
Good overall day. Off course amenities are slim and fairways haven’t but cut in days. But fairways and greens were on par with other top clubs in the area. Greens ran true!
Overpriced for what it is
Good course but don't pay rack rate - not really worth it. Some teeboxes are pretty chewed up and in need of repair, otherwise conditions are fine.
Not a lot of frills for the price
Greens rolled nice but were VERY soft and almost spongy. had to fix some huge ball marks and a plugged ball. Pro shop has basically nothing for sale, bucket of balls is $14 for a "large" that doesn't fill up all the way. Didn't try the food. No beverage cart. Carts have no GPS and speed governor is turned up. They won't let you walk under any circumstances. Course is a fun and challenging layout that could use a little TLC on some teeboxes. They grow the rough high at parts so just don't hit it in there.
Seen better days
Oak Valley used to be the jewel of the Redlands/Yucaipa/Beaumont area. It has fallen into disrepair. Tee boxes are beat up. Fairways are ok, but the rough is weed filled. Greens rolled fine-just a little beat up. They still have signs saying no outside beverages, but we brought a cooler that no one looked twice at because the bar is not staffed. It just seems like no one cares there. Never saw a marshal on the course and we played on a Friday afternoon. Definitely not worth the close to $100 greens fees on the weekend.
Oak Valley Golf Club
Good test of golf... very nice layout... does has some issues with maintenance but not that bad... the areas of rough off the just off the fairway and around the greens is penalizing as it will be difficult to find your ball... other than that I always enjoy golfing here
Great Layout
Course is in great condition with exception of a couple
Greens that were overly watered and the layout is great as well. Only drawbacks were no cart girl and pace of play was brutal. Had at least 5-10 minute wait on every tee box after the 6th hole.
Course Management/Supervision
No marshals/mgmt. supervision as to what's happening to play on the course. Apparently (on this day) the paying public rates second to the Golf Academy kids playing in 5-somes...very annoying. Also multiple tees (#1, #2, & #3-white,) are dying and need to be completely re-sodded)
Golfen old lady
One of my favorite courses in the IE. My only complaint is: To get ice in the ice chest you need to take the ice chest upstairs to the restaurant and purchase something or no ice. The tip jar at the cart return is funny.
Golf, but hit and miss services
I've played this course about once a year since 2015, playing each time I'm visiting family in the area. Today, it was extremely hot. Without any explanation, there was no drink and food service, and the halfway house was closed. Although, there were water coolers when we played the first nine holes, by time we got to hole 10, an employee passed us and was collecting the remaining water coolers from off the course (about 3:45 p.m.). While the course was in good shape and fun to play, beware that you may be risking serious dehydration unless you plan ahead and bring all the fluids you might need, without the expectation of being able to get more from the course.
Hot but great comditions
The course was in great condition and not busy due to the heat late in the afternoon. If you can tolerate worth a play. Bring your own water and ice. The course won’t give you any.
