Chula Vista Golf Course

First time I've played the course. It was long and fairly challenging. Fairways were in fair shape, but there were some areas that were dry and hard or completely dead due to the hot weather we've been having here. Greens were in good shape and challenging. I will definitely play here again.

I played this course very open.
But whenever i play there,
I feel so good and very satisified with this course.

the course cannot keep grass in the fairway due to drought

I got beat out of a sweet hot deal by a few minutes so I didn't even book on Golf Now but here's my 2 cents anyway: The fairways were poor so preferred lies are the way to go here unless you are a masochist or in a tournament. The greens are always the best part of Chula and were a bit on the quick side. The staff is very friendly and the Marshall/Water Guy comes around a lot to keep you hydrated. Don't forget your $5 cart key deposit! Lates...

The greens are always in good conditions but the fairways are in need of desperate attention to. If not, they'll continue to lose business to other local golf courses.

I have played this course many times, and have never seen it in such poor condition. Hitting a tee shot into the fairway should at least ensure that you have a decent shot into the green. Not here! Ground under repair everywhere! Burned out areas of both fairways and greens. Puddles and mud patches scattered around the course from inefficient sprinkler systems. Not my favorite course before; one to avoid in the future.

Course was in good shape. Fairways a bit driy like all courses right now. #10 hole was cut in half as they are working on the bridge but that should be fixed real soon. It is a very fun course to play. It is also easily walkable as it is fairly flat. Staff was excellent.

front 8 was great, bout 1 1/2 hours... next 3 holes - 1 hour - tis why I played through 11 and left.
so sad, weather was terrific and the ranger was wandering around telling our 3 some we were out of position: this was after watching a 4 some to tee off from 11 - they had waited until the 300 yd fairway was clear and only one of the group hit it over 200 yards) and a pair coming up to the 10th green, walked into the 11th fairway, each dropped a ball, discussed club selection all while I am addressing the ball on the tee box

This course is more challenging than it appears. There is a stream/marsh that runs through the entire course and can cause trouble off the tees on holes 1,2,5,9,12,14. All the par 5's are reachable in 2, so there are chances to score. The course is not in the best shape, but its also not going to hurt you with unfair lies. Back 9 is more difficult than the front so you need to keep it together. Pace of play can get pretty slow Fri-Sun.

The course was on rough shape in the fairway but the greens were good. The tees were pushed way forward so it made for a fun round. Staff was great as usual. Price was right and pace of play was perfect.

This is actually a nice course, unfortunately I believe it has been invaded by those learning how to play golf...our round was five hours....I won't return unless it's a weekday

This course has some very long par 4's. The greens were in excellent condition. The back 9 is more challenging than the front. Would go back anytime, had lots of fun.

An enjoyable course to play. Was not aware of a few tee boxes being repaired. The snack cart finally arrived on the 18th hole , too late. All in all a fun round.

Great course for the price. First time playing there. It was a little windy which made it more challenging but overall a great first time experience. Will be going back to play!

I had an early morning tee time - 5:30 AM. The pro shop staff told me to join the "Cups" group, but at the tee that group had a foursome somehow. So I waited for the next twosome . Then the twosome behind decided to join, making a fivesome. The group behind (a threesome) then started loudely complaining that they should be going before us. We teed off as a fivesome (while the threesome loudly protested while we were teeing off). At the 2nd tee, we broke off to two and three. During this process, the threesome behind us caught up and decided that they should go ahead of us, and a lady actually stood in front of our tee box, blocking the fairway saying that we couldn't go. What a circus! We had to just ride past her, drop our balls to where our first player's drive on the fairway (yup, one of our players had already teed off) and play on. The couse itself is good, but it definitely needs a starter and a ranger. And the lady who stood in front of our 2nd tee box should be banned from the couse - what a dangerous thing to do. I will gladly identify her - how could I forget that circus?

Had a 545am tee time, and didn't expect to be behind 5 groups. With that, pace was ok at 4 hours. They're renovating some tee boxes, but overall, course in good shape. Greens perfect.

Very slow play to got in fight on the 12th hole had 4 orientals come at me with there drivers in hand bunch of jerks will never go threre again

This is municipal course that get's a lot of traffic. Unless you can play on a Monday or Tuesday when the course is wide open you can expect a 4 1/2 to 5 hour rounds. Some of the fairways are not in the best shape, but the greens are always kept up and roll pretty good. The course is also a great value.

AWSOME time at this course every time. Highly recommended. Beginner or experienced.

I wish Marshall would have done something for group front of our group since they were slowing everyone behind them. The fairway show too many bare spots and tee box need to be leveled!! Green speed was some what inconsistent but not a deal breaker.
