Course Highlights
The three-nine layout delivers dramatic elevation changes and stunning scenery that consistently impress golfers unfamiliar with San Diego's hilly terrain. Friendly staff and well-maintained greens that hold up even after heavy rains make this course a reliable, rewarding choice.

Steele Canyon Golf Club in Jamul offers three unique nines: Canyon, Vineyard, and Ranch. Gary Player designed all 27 holes, which are played in three different 18-hole combinations. The courses are considered some of the best golf in southern California. The Canyon/Vineyard combination starts with dramatic elevation changes and then transitions into the subtler nuances of the Vineyard nine. The hilly front nine demands accuracy and golfers should be prepared for some uneven lies. The Vineyard nine doesn't get any easier either with several water hazards and many holes that play directly into the prevailing winds. The Vineyard's sixth hole is one of Steele Canyon's hardest. This lengthy par 5 measures 582 yards from the back tees and requires a forced carry over a dry creek bed on your third shot.

Steele canyon will test your game, no flat lies, which i knew going into it. So no beef there; however, it was a 5 hour round, and 5 hours of torture, in the blazing heat.. The course wasn't in that great a shape for the greens fees charged. 2nd 9 were recently punched, and were still a little sandy.

Amazing staff amazing course amazing value

As a local resident and 2x weekly golfer, there is no better value than what Steele canyon has to offer. From the front desk staff to the starter and everyone in between this is the best course in SD. The number of fellow golfers (mostly members) are the primary reason I only come here to play. The vibe is always refreshing and players are just what you would expect from a semi-private course of this caliber. Special mention to Manny at the starter booth who’s always looking to send me out with the best of the best folks.

Nice layout, great greens, fairways need TLC

Had the first tee time by myself and finished in 2 hours. Staff is very friendly. Nice layout and the greens were fast and true, but the fairways need work

Highly Recommend this course!

We booked this course based on an online recommendation and am so glad we did!

We played all 27 holes on a Saturday under perfect skies. The Vineyard course had some winds to contend with, but nothing crazy. Our group consisted of everything from a scratch golfer to my high handicap, and everyone loved the course!

The scenery and views at this course are absolutely amazing! The Canyon and Ranch course wind through the hills with huge elevation changes. The course was in excellent condition and well kept.

The staff was very friendly and offered up some great tips before we headed out. They also made some special accommodations fro our group which was massively appreciated! We grabbed a quick lunch on our 2nd turn which was very good and reasonably priced.

We are already planning on coming back to play again on our next west coast trip and cannot recommend this course enough!

The whole experience at Steele Canyon was first class and amazing!

Fun and challenging course.

Love the differences in elevation from hole to hole. Unlike anything I have seen on the east coast.

Fun, Challenging, Beautiful Course

Course is beautiful and well maintained. Surprised after all the rains San Diego just got that the greens and paths weren’t soggy at all. Love the layout of the course with all the hills. It’s a three nines course. We played Canyon into Ranch. Front was just as interesting/cool the back. It has a challenging set up but so fun!

Incredibly Scenic & Fun

There are three beautiful & long 9 hole courses. This is the highest ranked course I have played but I am a Duffer. Wide fairways, lots of bunkers, rough that would swallow your ball, and 10.5 green speeds. I had a blast as the weather was perfect! I could play these courses everyday!
