If you're sick of getting beat up and spit out by all the big-name, big-bite courses in the Palm Springs resort area paradise of La Quinta, Big Rock Golf & Pub at Big Rock Golf & Pub at Indian Springs could be the course for you.
This track provides a reprieve from the hacker battering. The design is pretty straight forward. Water only comes into play on two holes. The fairways are mostly flat.
Golfers can get into trouble in the desert areas bordering some holes, but as long as you're not too wild, the pain should be kept to a minimum. Big Rock Golf & Pub at Indian Springs is all about golf as a fun escape.
It's not a course that feels like it must make hackers prove something. The slope rating at this John Gurley Sr. design is 127 for men, 120 for women.

This course Rocks!
We thoroughly enjoyed our round of golf on this course. Plenty of challenge & beautiful scenery. Grabbed lunch & a beer at the clubhouse which was quick and easy. Great value!
Fun Rock and Roll Golf Course

I’ve been playing this course for nearly 30 years. Never disappoints. I love this place 😀
Enjoyable round
Starter let us start early and we were done our 18 in 3 hours. Nice course and staff.
Great round at big rock
Hadn’t played here in a few years and was happy to see the course on such good condition. Greens rolling very smooth. Nice layout. Not super challenging but def fair. Had a nice sunset view dinner on the patio afterwards. Twilight pricing was fantastic
Overlooked Gem
This course is often overlooked because it is away from the more popular resort courses. It is in beautiful shape with a great layout. It even has a rock and roll themed bar and grill with autographed guitars everywhere. I loved the fact that the par 3's on the course were rated as some of the most difficult holes.
Fun
The course needs to work on making their tee boxes flat. Many are crested making the tee off stance slanted.
Golf
Easy course , shot one under from back tees, 5 handicap
Always in good condition
Teed off around 11:30 and played in about 3:15. Some thin lies in the fairways as the grass transitions to summer Bermuda. Great facility for the price. Been coming here for 20 years.

We enjoyed playing this course again. The course was in very good condition. Pace of play was very good

Awesome course
This will be my go to golf course when I return to the Palm Springs area. The layout was nice with some challenging holes. The course is well maintained. From the tee box to the greens and everything in between. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The themed restaurant and bathrooms were memorable. We played this course in 4 hours. Bravo!
Didn’t disappoint
Very windy, but still enjoyed the round due to great staff and course conditions. A slow group ahead, but played through and it was smooth sailing.
