If you're sick of getting beat up and spit out by all the big-name, big-bite courses in the Palm Springs resort area paradise of La Quinta, Big Rock Golf & Pub at Big Rock Golf & Pub at Indian Springs could be the course for you.

This track provides a reprieve from the hacker battering. The design is pretty straight forward. Water only comes into play on two holes. The fairways are mostly flat.

Golfers can get into trouble in the desert areas bordering some holes, but as long as you're not too wild, the pain should be kept to a minimum. Big Rock Golf & Pub at Indian Springs is all about golf as a fun escape.

It's not a course that feels like it must make hackers prove something. The slope rating at this John Gurley Sr. design is 127 for men, 120 for women.

Nice day of it

I knew it was going to be a challenge because of the heat. Didn’t know the greens were just punched and sanded. All in all it was a fun day. and thanks to to the 2 staff guys for cleaning my clubs and offering helpful conversation.

Fun track and super nice greens

Great experience. Off the tees the course looks pretty easy, but I still managed to shoot 2 over my handicap, so I guess plays tougher. Very friendly staff. A set of tees between 6,200 and 7,000 would be great.

This is my home course when I’m out here in the desert and there is never a time that this course has played bad. The greens and fairways are always in great shape . There are small areas that are a little dried out but that most courses out here at this time and will not phase your play. Pace of play is always pretty quick and the staff are as friendly as one can meet. I always tell my friends about this course ..
