If you're sick of getting beat up and spit out by all the big-name, big-bite courses in the Palm Springs resort area paradise of La Quinta, Big Rock Golf & Pub at Big Rock Golf & Pub at Indian Springs could be the course for you.

This track provides a reprieve from the hacker battering. The design is pretty straight forward. Water only comes into play on two holes. The fairways are mostly flat.

Golfers can get into trouble in the desert areas bordering some holes, but as long as you're not too wild, the pain should be kept to a minimum. Big Rock Golf & Pub at Indian Springs is all about golf as a fun escape.

It's not a course that feels like it must make hackers prove something. The slope rating at this John Gurley Sr. design is 127 for men, 120 for women.

Nice Course

Enjoyed the course although we felt it could be played in less than 4 + hours (not overly difficult). In good shape, greens nice but not super fast. No beer cart. Would play again. It’s a must to stay after and enjoy the ambiance of the Big Rock Pub.

What a wonderful golf course. Nice practice facilities, wonderfully manicured golf course, bunkers are wonderful, greens are perfect. I have nothing but good things to say except they don't allow walking. This is a fun golf course worth the money and your time.

What a course! The greens are as good as advertised, and the layout is truly “challenging but forgiving “. If I make another tip to the area (and I will), I will play this again. Great staff also.

A great find in the valley

Passed by the big pub sign so many times, but didn’t realize there’s a little gem of a course tucked away in here. Staff really friendly, well stocked pro shop, course in great condition, especially the greens. Definitely as good as, or better tgan the average valley residential courses. Not particularly challenging although it’s a good outing for a bogey golfer. And great value. Will enjoy playing again. And the Big Rick Pub has great selection of local beers, good food, and also great staff.

Very Good

Haven't played here for a few years and it is still a good affordable option. Tee boxes just ok, fairways are decent, greens are very fast and in very good condition. Didn't find any greenside bunkers so I can't comment. The course layout is pretty good with very generous fairways but a lot of the par 4s seem quite similar. Pace of play was great, under 4 hours for a noon t time. All in all an enjoyable experience.
