If you're sick of getting beat up and spit out by all the big-name, big-bite courses in the Palm Springs resort area paradise of La Quinta, Big Rock Golf & Pub at Big Rock Golf & Pub at Indian Springs could be the course for you.
This track provides a reprieve from the hacker battering. The design is pretty straight forward. Water only comes into play on two holes. The fairways are mostly flat.
Golfers can get into trouble in the desert areas bordering some holes, but as long as you're not too wild, the pain should be kept to a minimum. Big Rock Golf & Pub at Indian Springs is all about golf as a fun escape.
It's not a course that feels like it must make hackers prove something. The slope rating at this John Gurley Sr. design is 127 for men, 120 for women.

We hit this course on a bad day
The course itself is fine. Unfortunately when we played the driving range was closed because of a flood and the fairways appeared not to have been cut for days. Our group of 4 are playing this course again and are looking forward to it now that we know are way around. Hopefully, pace of play is a little bit faster.
Friendly staff and good conditions
Enjoyed Big Rock Golf yesterday. Friendly staff and bar looked inviting but had no time to try unfortunately. Fairways in descent shape, greens reasonable speed and impressed with no watering complete fairways in order to reserve water.
Speed of play was monitored and never felt rushed.
Always a pleasure to play!
Waste of time not worth the fee
Starter had no clue how to run the first tee
Any complaint response speak to the pro shop regarding any issue
Played 7 holes in 2 hours 35 minutes
Cart path only with wide fairways plus 7 minute tee times
Means back up on every hole
Obviously this course wants to cram as many players on the course regardless of pace of play or quality of experience . No course marshaling at all
This course has become a bar with mediocre food that has a golf course with mediocre conditioning at a $100 green fee.
With a valley with so many other quality choices for the same fee go somewhere else.

Excellent staff and facilities. Only downside was the very slow greens.
Early after over-seeding
This course was in good condition although the fairways were slow as the grass was long preventing any rollout and high shots plugged as the fairways were very soft.
Loved it!
Very enjoyable course. Everyone was extremely friendly. The bar decor is awesome and the smoked wings were very good. Definitely will play again
Big Rock
Considering just coming out of overseeding the fairways were good, greens were smooth but slow, Bermuda rough was dormant. Good design but routing is weird because of having to cross streets multiple times.

No starter, no martial.and caught behind a group of 5 players
Great golf.
We went just before over seeding so course wasn’t in the best shape, but have played here before and it’s usually in great shape. Some wide open fairways, some tricky holes.
Good test of golf, very friendly staff, great restaurant too. Rates are decent
