PGA WEST Pete Dye Dunes Course

The course is laid out beautifully. Thoroughly enjoyed my round.

The course was in great condition would have rated the conditions excellent but the green were hardening and extremely fast because of the temps but would definitely play again.

I was expecting conditions to be a little better, considering that it is part of PGA West. Greens were very good but lots of spots in the fairways and roughs that were burnt out and it was early May. I only had 3-4 lies that were not ideal, but esthetically, the course was just, OK.

makes you really think about your shots with a chance of forgiveness. course is in great shape. all the amenities are great.

Played this course on our last day of our girls golf trip. The staff was great! Especially the started, James! The course was extremely challenging, mostly because of the rolling greens. Very hard to get anything to stick on approach shots. I have never had as many 4 putts in my life! Initially, I was frustrated but ultimately, I relaxed and enjoyed the round.

Rude bartender fun course. Need ball washers. Starter should mention out of bounds on holes 1,2. Great values when under $90. I suggest placing big flower pots as 150 yard markers until gps installed in carts.

Nice track for under $100, finally. We couldn’t figure out why ball washers didn’t exist on this classy course. More importantly, why no simple flower pots near fairway to mark 150 yards until gps arrives next Fall? Good starter but his game would be improved if he warned first timers of surprising o. B. To left on first two holes.

Bartender inside was a little snobby when I asked for water after 18 holes. Her response was, “There’s a water station outside down the steps”. I guess her thought was a glass of water or quick refill doesn’t come with a tip. More drinking water on course pls, every third hole maybe?

Not trying to beat up a great facility loaded mostly with great staff just trying to show a few opportunities for improvement. I was very happy to finally play anything at PGA West in La Quinta and I hope to play here again once I polish up my short game! Great course with small opportunities for improvements.

Regardless of which tee box you choose, it’s a fun and well designed track. Requires strategy and good hands around the greens. Neither of which I have. =) Great course and great time.
