PGA WEST Pete Dye Dunes Course

The course was in average condition, pace of play was slow later in the day.

I’ve played this week. Just opened after overseeding so cart paths only. Played in under 4 hours. Early tee time meant things were damp but once greens dries out they were at a decent speed. Probably not a great layout for a high handicapper, but a challenging Pete Dye layout (looks tighter than it is). Will be back.

Little disappointed no really extra effort made with them having a waterman break on 10, no driving range warmup area, and whole clubhouse under repair.

Other than pace of play which was quite slow the course is in great condition and the staff were extremely helpful.

We booked a late T-time expecting that we may not complete 18 holes however we only got 14 in before dark. Unfortunately we had to wait on almost every T-box.

The course description implied that there was a driving range and balls would be supplied. Not true.

No pro shop. Only a hats available.

Course suggest that it is fully operable. However, no food available/no restaurants open.

Course should have told you all the amenities would be closed at time of booking

Great course overall. Just thought it was unprofessional when we finished our round and the bag boy was counting his stack of tips, implying for us to tip him. Might seems very minor but it was very obvious what he was trying to do.

We always love playing a Pete Dye course, and this one doesn't disappoint. The layout was challenging and there weren't too many flat lies. This course would be a 'rock star' in any other state, but here at PGA West, it's the lesser of the other 5 courses...but still very much worth your time to play. Our only issue was that we played it the day before it shut down for a month for over-seeding, so the greens were slower than usual, and did not roll true...but I fully expect, in high season....their greens are as awesome as all the other PGA West courses....true and fast.

Better than expected. We played the dunes the last day before they closed for over-seeding.. It has been one of the hottest summers in a long while and so every golf course has suffered, Out here in Palm Springs, and I was not expecting much. Still the fairways were green, the dunes were awesome to have to hit around and only the greens needed help because the ball does not roll true this close to over seeding. But it was a wonderfully challenging and beautiful course.
