About
Blacklake Golf Resort boasts 27 holes of championship golf that are divided into three nines called the Oaks, Canyons, and Lakes. The nines can be played in three different 18-hole combinations. The Oaks/Canyons Course is the toughest of the three. The front nine features narrow fairways that wind through mature coastal oaks. If you're not careful, you may find yourself in the woods on this challenging target-style layout. The back nine doesn't get any easier with a layout that tumbles across rolling terrain. With the resort's location on the Nipomo Mesa along California's Central Coast, the elevated tee boxes on the Canyons nine allows for some stunning views. The location also invites refreshing sea breezes. In addition to the three golf courses, there is also a 275-yard driving range available with more than 30 grass and artificial teeing areas as well as three putting, chipping, and pitching greens.

Worst course in 2023
The marmots have taken over. Fairways very poor. Tee boxes were horrible.
This by far has been the worst course I've played in 2023.
Great course layout
But a great layout is swiftly followed by bad bounces and worse lies greens were slow and bumpy but I am spoiled when it comes to putting surfaces overall the course is for sure recommended because you get a great round for a decent price which is harder to find on the Central Coast
Good
Canyon greens were decent but the oaks greens were a little rough. A couple t boxes needed some work. Had a good time. Ill be back.
Worth Playing for Money
The fairways are in need of repair. Greens are well kept a little slow.
Course maintenance
Greens were a little less than average, they were very rough.
Some fairways were terrible due to extreme gopher infestation.
Course could be fun again.
Played this course off and on for the last 25-30 years and was always satisfied with the condition. But nowadays it needs some serious watering on the fairways. Tee boxes are too lumpy and and uneven. Hard to get a good, comfortable stance.
Greens are good. Lots of gopher holes and mounds on or off the fairways. A little more maintenance and it could be popular again.

Beautiful September day
Weather was great. Played at a good pace. Shot around par. Wife made three pars. The experience couldn't have been better.

Grass??? Distance markers???
Whoever is your superintendent, should be fired. Worst grass I’ve ever seen. Eucalyptus leaves all over the fairway… if you could call it fairway. More like 4 inch rough throughout the whole course. How about some markers for distance?? Simple stakes would suffice….Sprinkler distance numbers… something. All in all, poor course maintanance and that’s what we pay for!!!!!

Nice layout

Better play with someone who knows the course.
If you play the Oaks 9 save your dolf balls and just skip 7, 8 and 9 and give yourself 3 triple bogies and go to the next course!
