Galleon/Brigantine at Shipyard Golf Club

My group thoroughly enjoyed our round at Shipyard on 11/22. The staff was very helpful and the course was in great shape. We played in less than 4 hours. All in all, I would highly recommend playing at The Shipyard!

The layout and pace of the course was well done. However, I would like to see a description of each hole on the sign and scorecard. You have to guess a little which way to hit it. Also, it was difficult to see the color markers for teeing off. Maybe paint the entire marker instead of the ends of it. Also, some of the flags at the pin were tough to see. Maybe use bright colors such as yellow. Overrall, great value for the course.

The course was in great condition although it had rained the night before and early morning.

Excellent and fast greens.

Played this course on my first trip to Hilton Head. Beautiful course, greens were in amazing condition. Nice practice range, including putting and chipping greens. Only complaint is they charged me $43 for my wife to ride along. Never paid for a rider before. I was playing on a 1/2 price deal from the resort we were staying at. It came across that the course was getting back to a full price rate. Considering this is a resort town and having non-playing partners riding along is probably a frequent event, $43 was punitive. Won't be playing here again if I have a non-playing rider.

The course was in good shape. The greens were super fast. Took 18 holes to finally get the sod close. A missed three foot put could easily role 5-6 feet past the hole. The greens were true just tough

Nice course to break out the driver. Lots of dog legs. Greens are a bit hard and balls will rollout. Fast but fair.

Due to hot deal available for Shipyard I experienced an outstanding course for an outstanding price.

Shipyard had just over-seeded so the fairways were terrific. The greens were fast and true. The layout is typical of a course winding through a housing community. Very scenic with lots of doglegs. The pro shop staff were very greeting and the caddyshack guys friendly and helpful. SY is a definite recommend.

My father recommended this course as his guys trip was here 40 years ago. I played all 3 9’s and it was great. 4 deer 5 gators and multiple birds although only 1 lost ball during my morning loop including 76 strokes in under 4 hours

Course in good shape. Staff very friendly. Gave us a veteran discount. Nice restaurant. I will return.

A little hard to play with the grass, not being cut in the fairway balls didn’t roll very well.

They didn’t bother to,tell us they had over seed the course. None of the fairways were cut, hit your ball in center of fairway and couldn’t find it. What a joke. It was like playing 18 holes in the rough. They acted offended when I complained. Course should not have been open for public play.

The course had been overseeded and the fairways had not been cut. Grass was over two inches long in the fairways and with carts on path only many times you could not even see your ball from the cart path. The greens were impeccable and the only thing that saved the round. But they should not have taken money to play during this oversees it was so bad

Sixth year in a row we have come to Hilton Head to golf. We always playy at least one round at Shipyard. Love the course and employees there. Thank You

Overall a nice course…only complaint, greens fee over the top at $170…
