Galleon/Brigantine at Shipyard Golf Club

Really nice course to play the first time here. Lots of water and sand, of course, but some wide fairways and large greens. Cart girl very nice as well as pro shop staff and cart attendees. Purchasing Hot Deal through Golf Now was big discount.

Would definitely play again.

I chose this course mainly for the price compared to the Sea Pines courses for an early round, I got off the first tee right on time 7:15, we played the front 9 extremely fast as we were the first group off. The back 9 took a lot longer (almost 2x as long), that was a bit disappointing but at the end of the round it was an avg. paced round. The greens and tee boxes were in excellent shape, the fairways were great as well. This course exceeded my expectations for sure.

Had a great round. Course in excellent condition. Would play again!

Had a great time on a beautiful course.

Two things that were an issue :

1) We are out of towners and paid for club rentals for 4. Upon checking in we we’re told that was a huge demand for woman’s clubs and that two ladies had to share a set. Fine. No price adjustment as I paid for four.

2) On the 7th hole one of our carts died. We called the course and followed “reset” instructions. No luck . We were told a new cart would be delivered. One never arrived and 45 minutes later the cart arose from the dead. When I mentioned this when we returned, we were told “ this does not happen usually “. But it did !!! Very poor customer service as I probably won’t go back . Not even I’m sorry . Not like I can’t play elsewhere in HHI !!

Our pace with a 2:04 tee time on June 24 was not an issue. I’d suggest not playing at peak times if

you want to crab about pace of play. I’m sure it could be dreadfully slow The staff was, as reviewed, not welcoming or friendly. Mike the starter was quick to point out he was in charge but vaporized at the turn never to be seen again. I can’t say the dynamic price was unfair at $75/round and it was an enjoyable experience. Slow greens but I’m not looking to play round wreckers on vacation.

Nice course, greens in great shape, pace of play great

$120 per round seems high but all courses were high in this area.

The entire rating would be 5 stars (excellent) but for the extremely slow pace of play on the first nine holes. Two of the golfers in the group in front seemed to be giving lessons to the two other golfers. Also, they seemed unaware that they were holding up the group behind them. We played a different back nine.

Fun course and only complaint was just a few alligators, was hoping to see more. Otherwise a must when on HHI.

When I went to pay the lady asked where we were staying and I told her the Marriott Ocean Resort and we received the rack rate, We also received 10% off on gift apparel since we are Marriott Rewards Members. Course was great and so was the Shipyard Pub.

Pace of play could have been better. But staff did try to move along slower players
