About
River Falls Golf Plantation in Duncan is a Gary Player Signature Course. Its location makes it convenient for meeting up with people coming from Asheville, Columbia, Atlanta, or Charlotte. The golf course is also just minutes away from downtown Greenville. The narrow layout will test the accuracy and shot making abilities of even the best golfers. Rolling hills provide a variety of elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. Water hazards come into play frequently and there are also strategically placed bunkers framing the greens and fairways. Player crafted a golf course that is both formidable and scenic. The abundance of mature trees helped him achieve this. He carefully wove River Falls Golf Plantation through the mature forests, allowing the trees to surround the holes, giving each a secluded and peaceful feel.

Nice afternoon round
Enjoyed the round with my grandson, course is in good shape. Some fairways were wet but no restrictions on carts. Greens in good shape and pace of play was great! Well worth the Hot Deal price.

One of my favorites in the area.
I love the layout of this golf course. It is challenging enough to force you to think for all 18 holes without being a particularly long course. Even if you aren’t a very long player (relative to your tee box selection ) you will be rewarded for visualizing and executing the correct shot, and probably punished for doing the opposite. It’s a great course to challenge your golf buddies to a round of golf because everyone will have to pick their shots. The “spray and pray” or “bomb and gorge” long ball hitter of the group will only have the advantage on a few holes. A well placed shot will almost always lead to a more favorable approach shot on this course.
Greens are pretty smooth and consistent. Medium to medium quick for a non-private course. Practice green accurately represents the putting surface you will see on the course.
One of my favorites in the area. Love River Falls.
I play public courses in the Greenville/ Simpsonville area 1-2 times/week, tees in the 6500 yard range, 9-10 handicap index.
Much improved
Played this course last year and was a little disappointed with the conditions. Every aspect of the course is greatly improved, especially the greens. Shows some effort has been made and the experience was enjoyable.

It was ok
I have played River Falls before, but it has been a few years. The course is nice, but nothing special. The fairways were in good shape and you could see where people had filled in divots (which doesn’t always happen lol) but several of the greens had some pretty bad areas. The rough was thick so your’e basically done if you end up there. They have a big “No Personal Coolers” sign at the carts, but not a single water station ANYWHERE on the course. You have to go to the bar to buy a snack and water, so you have to stand and listen to the token drunk guys cursing and carrying on with their hole-by-hole take on their round. My friend and I usually shoot mid 80’s on good days & mid to high 90’s on bad ones. We haven’t gotten to play together in a while, so we were looking forward to hanging out and catching up for a few hours. We got notified as we loaded up the cart that we had a 3rd with us. He was a nice guy, but much better than us. It just felt like we were holding him up all day, which definitely hurt our enjoyment of the day. Maybe they tell you when you pay inside, but we booked a “Hot Deal” on the app so it was already paid for in full. If they wait until you pay and load up to saddle groups with extra players then that’s a lame move. Would play again, but I’ll make sure it is with my own foursome. They probably won’t make my regular rotation of places.

River Falls
So they have really stepped up there game on their greens. This course is the best shape I’ve seen in years. Can’t beat it. Friday was very. Busy but pace of play was fine. Very little waiting on the T Box. And we where able to finish a full round in about 4 hours. I typically play at another course but I will definitely be. Back

Wasn't told the greens where punched, other than that, the pace of play was slow, the fairways are in great shape.

The range and The turn
The range was wet, had lots of weeds and was not level. The bartenders were very focused on the people eating and hanging out at the bar. They were less interested in the golfers just passing through and we are they ng to keep pace. Suggest a separate station for getting something at the turn.
