River Falls Golf Plantation in Duncan is a Gary Player Signature Course. Its location makes it convenient for meeting up with people coming from Asheville, Columbia, Atlanta, or Charlotte. The golf course is also just minutes away from downtown Greenville. The narrow layout will test the accuracy and shot making abilities of even the best golfers. Rolling hills provide a variety of elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. Water hazards come into play frequently and there are also strategically placed bunkers framing the greens and fairways. Player crafted a golf course that is both formidable and scenic. The abundance of mature trees helped him achieve this. He carefully wove River Falls Golf Plantation through the mature forests, allowing the trees to surround the holes, giving each a secluded and peaceful feel.

Golfer Reviews
Great layout
Greens were not fast (but could be later in the year) mostly flat, smooth and true. Every hole was unique and fun to play except if it’s your first time, check the guide carefully there’s a lot you can’t see from the tee box. I had an early morning tee time so pace was excellent but I could see if it were a crowded afternoon, pace could be real slow. Definitely will play again.

Good and bad
Let me start by saying the course is in good condition the greens are excellent. My 1st interactions with the proshop staff was terrible extremely rude and hasn't changed in the last year.Cart paths or what cart paths ,bumps ,holes etc. Drinks literally coming out of the holders. Golf now prices and good greens are the only reasons I play here.

Stop the rain
If it wasn’t for all the rain the state been getting the course would be better but the greens are in excellent condition. I think it’s one of the best courses in the upstate of SC.

Great course!
Staff in pro shop are direct and to the point. Not the nicest. I will say the grounds staff are fantastic and friendly.

Quick round before bad weather set in
8:00am first off as a single. Played two balls and got as far as the 8th before it started to snow. Waited 30mins hoping it would stop and melt but the rain set in so I called it a day. The greens were rolling good.

Great Challenging Course
Surprised to find this hidden gem. I will def be back
Nice twilight round
I played at twilight with a friend. We did the first 9 holes (needed to leave one hour before dawn). The course was great, in a really good condition and challenging (for us at least). I liked the tips on the sings on some holes. I give a 5 start review and eager to come back soon.

Very challenging
The Bermuda was dormant but the greens were fast and true, lots of great scenery. And undulation. It is a very challenging course, controlled ball flight, direction and distance is necessary

No coolers
I bring a cooler with water in it when I play golf but this course will not let you take coolers and they don't have any water on the course. To me this seems like they are trying to gall'd you into buying their beverages when all I want is to be able take water on the course with me.

Really good
Played at River Falls for the first time in about a year. I really enjoyed my round. I paid $42 for a Saturday afternoon round. The course was not crowded at all so I zipped around at a good pace. The course layout is awesome, and honestly one of the hardest Ive played. There are alot of really narrow holes, and approaches with absolutely no place to miss or it just drops off into oblivion. Alot of good elevation changes and a nice mix of long, short, and dogleg holes. If I were being picky, I could only complain about the greens. They were in good shape, but were painfully slow in my opinion. There is a really nice bar/grill that was much busier than the course itself. If you are in the area, its certainly worth a play, but if its your first time dont expect to shoot a great score with the number of blind shots, elevation changes, drop offs etc....

Very nice
The course was well maintained, scenic and well paced. This purse for me was challenging but fair. The greens were true and well kept. Can’t wait to play again.
