LakeRidge Golf Course
About
LakeRidge Golf Course is a Robert Trent Jones course that has consistently been voted the "Best of Reno" ever since it first opened in 1969. Though the course sits less than five miles from downtown, the surrounding mountains provide a tucked-away feel. There are some stunning views from the elevated tees but don't get too distracted, this challenging course demands your attention. Mature trees tower over the fairways but they are thankfully wide enough to offer a little room for error. Water comes into play frequently and there are strategically placed bunkers lurking along the undulating greens. Accuracy is essential at LakeRidge Golf Course. The signature hole is the par-3 15th. This tee sits atop a rocky ridge that is perched 140 feet above Lake Stanley. You'll be playing downhill to an island green on this challenging but scenic hole.

Great day
One of Renos best courses.
I love playing there as often as time allows.
Highly recommend
A bit soggy
Generally the course was in great shape, but was a bit soggy in places, odd for a drought stricken region.
The layout is classic RTJ, hard par, easy bogey.
Range was just ok, mats instead of grass.
Which brings us to pace of play. Played on a busy Friday. No ranger. Which meant 10-15 minute waits on every tee. The $75 price point brings with it an expectation of excellent customer experience. This course fell well short. There are better options in the region.
Mildly Disappointed
I haven't played Lakeridge since early last year. I have played this course many times and enjoy the overall experience. Today was different as the water levels were very low and dried up in many areas. It gave the overall course experience a completely different feel. Still a great course to play and would recommend to any golfer.
Slow Play
Course was over crowded with 3 to 4 groups on each hole. Too many tee times were booked for this type of course making a 4 hour round into a 5 1/2 hour round.
Time for improvements to the cart paths
My favorite Reno course, but cart paths sorely need repaving!
Where was the Marshall
Had to wait a minimum of 10 minutes at each tee. Marshall finally came to us about the 12 hole said he broke up a sixsome up ahead. Was not a enjoyable round.
Same old story with Lakeridge
I've been playing this course a few times a year for the past 5 years. I was excited to play on Saturday because of the rain we've been getting, and the condition of the course didn't disappoint. The grounds keepers are doing a great job. My frustration comes with the number of players pushed out. Tee time intervals are too close together. Couple that with a tournament, and congestion slows a round to over 5 1/2 hrs. There were several times where there were multiple groups waiting on a tee box with two others on the hole. The large amount of players takes its toll on the course. Many divots in the fairways that weren't filled, impact marks on greens that weren't fixed. I was happy overall with the course condition, but after fixing many divots, it became a chore. I understand that Lakeridge is one of the nicest courses in the area, but it's definitely not worth the price when you are faced with a very slow round and players who are too busy to fix the damage they inflict.
One of the best in Reno
I have played this course many times. Enjoyed it every time Lookinf forward to the next.
Really nice course, poor pavement and cart path maintenance
I've walked this course as a spectator a couple of times, played it for the first time on Sunday. Course and greens were in very good condition, but the parking lot and cart paths are in very poor condition. Potholes everywhere! Marshall let 3 groups go out as 2-somes instead of keeping 4-somes on schedule. We went out at 3:20p when our tee-time was at 2:39pm...
Paid 1/2 price as a hot deal. Would not pay full price. Pro shop staff were great!
fun course can be challenged
enjoyed playing this course. Staff is friendly courses in nice shape could be a little better but still in good condition.it's an older course with some scenic holes and great views.
Great course
I haven't played this course in 30 years. I am from the Bay Area and I have been trying to find this course since then. The problem was I couldn't remember the name of the course that I played 30 years ago. I do remember that I loved it then as much as I loved it now.
hidden treasure
We have played in Reno several times but have always avoided this course thinking a downtown course would be average at best. We found a great deal on golf now and played. All I can say is it was a pleasant surprise. Nice greens and fairways and a challenging layout. I am a left to right player and it seemed that most of the holes were right to left. Even though it did not fit my eye I thought the course was great. This course is now on our list to hit next time we are in town.
Great greens
Good course with nice mix of holes. Playable, and yet a nice challenge from the tips. Course conditions for a daily fee course we're excellent. Only serious issue, an overly talkative starter, responsible for our 10 min late start, and the ridiculously slow, oblivious 3 ball in front. Good deal for course conditions.
Fun to play
Overall it was a fun and difficult course to play. Very enjoyable.
Great golf now deal
Got a great golf now deal to play for $30 with an afternoon tee time. Definitely worth it. Would play every week for that deal with no hesitation. Course is in great early season shape.
Lakeridge!!!
This is by far my favorite course in reno! Course is on good shape for this time of year. Greens were slow in morning we teed off before 9am. By 10:30 am they were moving and rolling. There are a few dry spots which is expected this time of year in reno. By May this course is a 5 star course. Staff is always top notch! TJ, Adrian very accommodating! Alex the starter was ver nice too as kept a watchful eye on us before round to make sure we were all ready. Course Marshall very nice as well. After the round we had drinks in the bar and food. Great food and the bartender was awesome! Great day and lots of fun! Thank you Duncans and lakeridge golf.
Good day, bad course etiquette
The course was in great shape on a great day, so it was busy.
Unfortunately, the foursome in front of us were poor golfers and would not wave us through, in spite of the fact there were two holes open ahead of them.
To top that off, they were served by the cart girl in the middle of the FIRST HOLE!!
That would be right under the nose of the starter, huh???
If a golf course wants foursomes to start every 8 or 9 minutes, then they MUST have a marshall to move players forward or aside so we can get a round in in four and a half hours!!
Beautiful course, infested with some animal
Absolutely gorgeous course. I only took off some stars because there is some ground squirrel looking animal everywhere. There was one green with about 20 of them surrounding the hole. A local told me that they were called "marmots". I couldn't help but think of Caddyshack the whole time I was golfing.
