About
Situated between Greenville and Spartanburg, Willow Creek Golf Course is a favorite course amongst many area players. The course has a classic layout that starts out gently with a player-friendly front nine but then becomes much more challenging on the back nine. The layout is a seemingly mild 6,890 yards from the back tees but it can feel longer because of all the elevation changes you'll encounter. It's a golf course that will appeal to beginners but advanced players will also enjoy the many risk-reward opportunities that can be found throughout. Water hazards come into play on eight holes and there is a slew of strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides. The par-5 fifth hole is Willow Creek Golf Course's signature. This 516-yard hole tumbles across rolling hills with a stream that cuts right through the fairway.

Nice course
Course is one of my favourites always in nice shape
Slow pace
Pace of play was extremely slow and no gamers on course.
Deserve a refund.
Our tee time was 1:10. They were short on carts and we finally got one right at our tee time. That didn’t matter, because we still waited another 20 minutes to tee off. Pace of play was awful. A marshall showed up not to check on the pace, but to inform us that all carts had to be in by 5:15. We had to cut the round short by 4 holes in order to get in on time. I am extremely disappointed in the customer service here.
Slow play
Course was in OK condition but the pace of play was very slow. A 5 hour round and saw no rangers.
Uptight
Course was in decent shape, some bunkers in bad shape, greens fast, solid fairways. The biggest complaint is how uptight they are. I have always heard that about this course but never really witnessed it outside of a few grumpy starters. Today we teed off at 8:15 (5 minutes past our tee time due to the group in front of us teeing off at 8:07). We got yelled at on the 8th hole for pace of play, we made rhe turn at 10 on the dot. That is 1:45 for 9 which is well below the 2:15 standard. The marshall even called ahead to the turn to reprimand us which I question them what the pace of play should have been? We ended up finishing the round at 11:30 so much faster than a standard 4-4.5 hr round.
Need the rangers to be more visible. Saw 2 rangers in 18 holes and play was slow.
If you want a steady pace round, it's not here.
