About
Situated between Greenville and Spartanburg, Willow Creek Golf Course is a favorite course amongst many area players. The course has a classic layout that starts out gently with a player-friendly front nine but then becomes much more challenging on the back nine. The layout is a seemingly mild 6,890 yards from the back tees but it can feel longer because of all the elevation changes you'll encounter. It's a golf course that will appeal to beginners but advanced players will also enjoy the many risk-reward opportunities that can be found throughout. Water hazards come into play on eight holes and there is a slew of strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides. The par-5 fifth hole is Willow Creek Golf Course's signature. This 516-yard hole tumbles across rolling hills with a stream that cuts right through the fairway.

Course ok. Staff overbearing
I enjoyed the course and had a fun time at Willow Creek after we got started. To me the staff is a little overbearing. Check in was ok. The one guy in the clubhouse on a busy Friday was not overly friendly. But he did his job. The first starter checked us off and said we are starting play on the back today. We said ok. And five minutes before our tee time we drove over. One of us had teed off when another ranger drove over and told us it wasn’t our tee time. That we were 1050 and the 1040 group hadn’t went off yet. Well we had drove over at 1045 and there was no one on the hole. How were we to know? He wasn’t very nice about it. But the 1040 group told us to go ahead. They were waiting on another player. So our group finishes teeing off and before we get to the fairway ANOTHER DIFFERENT ranger stops us and tells us we are a hole behind! How can we be a hole behind buddy? We just teed off! Get it together. After that the round was fun. The course was in good shape. I did think the greens were VERY firm and did not hold a shot or pitch very well. But it was ok. It’s a fun layout. A lot of different holes. A few holes require less that driver and I would think that longer hitters could choose to hit less than driver on a lot of holes. Overall, a fun course minus the employees. I’d play there again. But it’s not on my list of must plays. I can save an hour drive and play near the house at River Bend or Deer Brook in Shelby NC for $20-$25 less than what they are charging and they are both in better shape.
Very nice layout
I have golfed here numerous times in the last 2 years and always enjoyed the course and the conditions. Staff is very friendly restaurant is nice but does close a little early (5.30) Great driving range and chipping area with separate practice green. Pace of play can be slow if a few groups of walkers are ahead.

Very nice course
Course was in very good shape. Driving range and chipping green along with practice putting are nice features. Good value for the money. My only complaint was restaurant closes at 5.30 . Will definitely golf here again

Love this course
Willow Creek is a great challenge for me, elevation changes and challenging shots abound. However, the starter had a stick up his butt and did not seem to care about his job. They need to work on the personalities that are allowed to interact with players, it can start your round off on the wrong foot.

Everything is still dormant.
Rarely was a lye n the Fairway too thin. This course is well managed.

Great course
We played on Monday 3-18-2024. Everything at this place is great. Fairways are starting to wake up. Greens are super fast right now. The golf carts of death should be getting replaced according to the staff.. Ours had no brakes. Driving Range is mat only right now, and only one Tee box had a mat on it. We will play again.
