Wild Dunes Harbor Course, designed by Tom Fazio, is said to be cut from some of the prettiest real estate in South Carolina. Water makes up a great deal of the Harbor Course layout. After all, half the course runs along the world’s longest water hazard, The Intracoastal Waterway. Fazio claims the Harbor Course to be one of his favorites. "Working on the Harbor Course was very satisfying to me as a designer because we had to create everything. It was a very challenging, and ultimately, a very satisfying project."

Windy day makes back 10 tough

Staff was quite friendly. No range so no warmup. Very windy day made first 8 holes seem easy. Then we turned into the wind and it was tough sledding.

Course conditions were good and scenery was nice. Green conditions were pretty good.

Would come back to play ideally with less wind.

Smallest Greens Ever

The Harbor Course at Wild Dunes has some of the smallest greens I've ever seen. It's very narrow too. If you have a tendency to spray the ball, bring a lot of balls. Staff was less than friendly too (the nicest people we talked to all day were the Starter & Ranger). For what you pay, I would much rather play somewhere else.

Love this place

Resort course for sure....they keep in great shape all year round. Greens were in great shape for December---fairways were running fast. Its a play for sure in Charleston.

Never again

Played as a single. Sort of expected to be paired up on a course like this. Club house guy took my $$$ butf offered no help. Practice balls were unavailable. No warm up on a course i'd never seen.Within 5 holes I was waiting extensively. By the back nine it was a joke. No marshals or staff. Seemed to be a lot of drunks on the course. Course itsself was in great shape although it was damp and the greens were dead slow and somewhat inconsistent. Hated to pay that much for a round that I was really looking forward to. NIce course but a lousy value and experience.

Revenge of the narrows on the Harbor course at Wild Dunes

Hurricane Hugo in 1989 brought about changes that tightened the original routing of the Harbor course, forcing a bit of a disjointed feeling as you dodge in and out of houses and condos at Wild Dunes Resort. Visually, it's quite a treat. Yard for yard, it's a menace.
Water and marsh catch misses on one side or the other of the fairway on essentially every hole but the par-4 15th. Hit it straight or swim with the gators.
The back nine along the Intracoastal Waterway - if it were merged with the back nine at the Links course - would make one premier shoreline stunner. Holes 9-11 sit exposed along the water. After a brief run inland, you might actually have to wait for a yacht to pass before hitting over the waterway to the par-3 16th green and back across again on no. 17, a compelling Cape hole that's one of the toughest challenges in Charleston.

Great course for my first time in Charleston

What a great day! This course challenged my game! Layout was fantastic with difficulty, I recommend getting a yardage book to know where to hit off the tee box! This course is gorgeous. The staff was so welcoming and friendly! Will play this course again! Only negative is that the driving range was closed due to irrigation being replaced....1st hole was a warmup!!! Enjoy friends
