About
Unlike many other courses in Phoenix, the course at the Toka Sticks Golf Club was not done in a traditional desert-style. It is known amongst locals for having very fast greens, many of which are elevated. The old Toka Sticks course was originally a nine-hole course built in 1945 but in addition to making it an 18-hole, championship course, it has had many renovations in the years since to make it a more challenging and interesting course. There are stately trees present on the course call for straight shots in order to reach the narrow fairways. Two lakes are situated on the course that create water hazards that come into play on sever holes. There are also several well-placed sand bunkers throughout. Toka Stick Golf Club also offers a short game area, a putting green and a driving range.

Nice course.Improvements made
A nice moderate course to play. They have made several iprovements since I last played. Gopher problem but none impacted the greens or play. Good Marshall kept pace of play good.
Good warm up course
Fairways flat with few hazards. 'Greens had some bumps and level changes to make it more difficult to get it in the hole. Lots of cart paths so a little difficult to figure out where next hole was.
Military course
Course was in great shape. Greens were fast but rolled good. Enjoyable daay
Great day with my boys
Played with my sons, one of which never played before so this course was perfect, flat and wide open. We had a great time, greens were beautiful. would play again in a minute.
It will get better.
Not allowing carts on the grass. Inconvenient and slows down play. Understandable but would expect lower prices until it’s full service.
Hate path only
Of course this time of year it’s cart path only so my rating starts low and they have to earn it back. The course was ok with a decent layout. The exception is a horrible #9. With crap and ob on the right and driving range on the left and a narrow hole it leaves nothing but frustration…and I only bogeyed it. I’m not sure I’d play it again unless there was a nice hot deal.
