About
Unlike many other courses in Phoenix, the course at the Toka Sticks Golf Club was not done in a traditional desert-style. It is known amongst locals for having very fast greens, many of which are elevated. The old Toka Sticks course was originally a nine-hole course built in 1945 but in addition to making it an 18-hole, championship course, it has had many renovations in the years since to make it a more challenging and interesting course. There are stately trees present on the course call for straight shots in order to reach the narrow fairways. Two lakes are situated on the course that create water hazards that come into play on sever holes. There are also several well-placed sand bunkers throughout. Toka Stick Golf Club also offers a short game area, a putting green and a driving range.

Forgiving course where you can score well if the unglazed greens don't get you.

Play somewhere else
This course needs a grounds crew and management to back them fixing it right? Everything from rock hard tee boxes to no sand bunkers ect ect.... would have to see 100% turn around to return.
First time
This was my first time playing here. Pro shop staff was nice. Fairways were like concrete. Greens in great condition. Stopped at turn for a hotdog. Guy took a cold hotdog and put on a grill. He made a few slits in top of the hotdog. I took it to the 10th hole and first bite it is cold in the middle. I wasted $6 on a freaking cold hotdog. I mean a cold dog! I won’t be back. Yes the green fee was reasonable but with the hard fairways and sorry food, it wasn’t worth it to me. The cold dog really ticked me off.
Playing Right Before Overseeding
The course needed help and it's scheduled to get it. The staff was very friendly.

Course was preparing to overseed and still in good shape. Fairways are tree lined and forgiving with challenging greens. Staff very friendly and accommodating.
Toka Sticks is always fun to play
Course is in great condition especially considering the time of year (just before overseeing).
The fairways and greens are doing very well and even the tee boxes are good.
Give it a try before October 16 when they do overseed.

Could use some improvements, my cart needed an alignment and more tape for the seat.

In great shape
The course is in great shape for this time of year. So many courses are brown and the grass is nonexistant at this time, but Toka Sticks is in excellent shape. Fairways are great, tee areas need a little work, and the greens are rolling true.

Course was in good shape for this time of year. They will be overseeding course in two weeks. Course had forgiving fairways and challenging pin placement and greens. Would definitely recommend Tom’s Sticks.
First time back in a while
Much better conditions than last time I played here MANY years ago. Course in much better shape than expected. Will revisit if the rates are competitive.
