Toka Sticks Golf Club
About
Unlike many other courses in Phoenix, the course at the Toka Sticks Golf Club was not done in a traditional desert-style. It is known amongst locals for having very fast greens, many of which are elevated. The old Toka Sticks course was originally a nine-hole course built in 1945 but in addition to making it an 18-hole, championship course, it has had many renovations in the years since to make it a more challenging and interesting course. There are stately trees present on the course call for straight shots in order to reach the narrow fairways. Two lakes are situated on the course that create water hazards that come into play on sever holes. There are also several well-placed sand bunkers throughout. Toka Stick Golf Club also offers a short game area, a putting green and a driving range.

Nice conditions
Played mid-morning. Great pace. But looked like slow play started behind us. The group behind us quickly fell behind us. Good thing we got out before 10AM.
Fairways in very good shape. Greens rolled true. Not many flat greens. Challenging. Bunkers could use a little more sand.
Fun time
We were paired with a fun couple…I f go to the right on back nine may loose ball in prairie dog holes
C+
Course is ok. Greens were a little beat up. No food or drink options until 8am. Greens fees are $77 for 18, little steep.
Not going anywhere for awhile?!
The round cost $77 and took 4 hours and 40 minutes and there were only 3 of us in our group. Fairways were in decent shape and most greens were ok, except #10 literally had a hole in the middle of it,. While the track is fun and somewhat forgiving (as noted by golf balls flying across fairways), it's not worth the cost or the time. Save you $$$ and hopefully it will play quicker in the late spring/summer.
Good Course, painfully slow
Really like this course. Played it multiple times over years. Staff, greens excellent. Some tee boxes really uneven and in repair. Great layout. But 5+ hours is a deal breaker. Either need course marshall and/or larger gaps in tee times. Don't think I'll be back sadly.
Nice round
Course is golfer friendly. Not too much trouble to get in to. Tees, fairways, and greens all in pretty good condition. Traps as with many courses in AZ were fairly bad with little sand. Carts were old and not in very good condition no GPS. Beverage cart came around fairly regular and prices were about normal. Pace of play was a little slow, but not unexpected. Liked the course and will probobly play .
Good Value Golf in Mesa
Very mature course a little rough around the edges. Holes well thought out without being too difficult. While quite firm, the greens were excellent. Efficient and friendly staff
TSGC is in Good Condition
The course was in generally good condition. Tee boxes could use some TLC,. Fairways were in good, trimmed shape, with the greens being both hard and fast. Sand traps were very thin and, in most cases, very wet from sprinklers, making it indeed a challenge to play your shots. Pace of play was slow (a foursome in front of ours was painfully slow, asking for clubhouse assistance at the turn, though no marshal ever came), just over 4.5 hours for our foursome. Value of play was fair.
Dog Patch 2
Correcting my last review . I meant to repeat the adage
“ a bad day golfing is better than a good day at “work” , DOES NOT
APPLY !
Breaking my femur bone in half is better than playing this toxic waste dump.
Thank you
When we arrived there was no one to take our clubs we loaded them ourselves and then when we came back we parked our carts at the staging area and the individual took our clubs to the drop off. Also when I booked I had booked for four people but unfortunately my husband hurt his back and was unable to play so I was charged by you folks for 4 players. Normally charges are not taken off credit cards until you get to the golf course but my fees were processed right away. Can I get a refund for 1 player?
While we waited for the computer system to re-boot about 15 minwe asked how the course was marked for yardage. Allison commented Not sure. I asked if the sprinklers were marked or cart paths marked. She clearly had no idea what we we’re talking about. The driving range had no yardage markers either. The course generally was run down. Many Over grown unkept trees. Part paths crumbly. Greens patchy and diseased. No GPS Divit Repair bottle or coolers are on the carts. this is more of a $25 dollar track not $79.00
