About
Unlike many other courses in Phoenix, the course at the Toka Sticks Golf Club was not done in a traditional desert-style. It is known amongst locals for having very fast greens, many of which are elevated. The old Toka Sticks course was originally a nine-hole course built in 1945 but in addition to making it an 18-hole, championship course, it has had many renovations in the years since to make it a more challenging and interesting course. There are stately trees present on the course call for straight shots in order to reach the narrow fairways. Two lakes are situated on the course that create water hazards that come into play on sever holes. There are also several well-placed sand bunkers throughout. Toka Stick Golf Club also offers a short game area, a putting green and a driving range.

When we arrived there was no one to take our clubs we loaded them ourselves and then when we came back we parked our carts at the staging area and the individual took our clubs to the drop off. Also when I booked I had booked for four people but unfortunately my husband hurt his back and was unable to play so I was charged by you folks for 4 players. Normally charges are not taken off credit cards until you get to the golf course but my fees were processed right away. Can I get a refund for 1 player?
While we waited for the computer system to re-boot about 15 minwe asked how the course was marked for yardage. Allison commented Not sure. I asked if the sprinklers were marked or cart paths marked. She clearly had no idea what we we’re talking about. The driving range had no yardage markers either. The course generally was run down. Many Over grown unkept trees. Part paths crumbly. Greens patchy and diseased. No GPS Divit Repair bottle or coolers are on the carts. this is more of a $25 dollar track not $79.00
The course was in good condition and the elevated greens made the greens seem smaller in size and tougher to keep shots on the green.
Enjoyable round
Not picturesque but tees were soft, fairways were good, greens fairly receptive. Not too much trouble to get into. Cart was older with no GPS but serviceable. Beverage cart came around often and attendant was very pleasant. Pace of play was good although we waited a bit a couple of times. Staff was helpful and curious. Good experience, will go back
Great test
The course was in great shape for winter playing. Speed was acceptable for the number of players on the course. Cart girl was very friendly and attemtive to your needs. A recommended course for all skill levels.
Won't Be Back
For no apparent reason, tee times were 1/2 hour behind. The course play was horribly slow with no attempt by the staff to improve it. We had to quit after 5 hours and we were only on the 17th hole! No excuse for that!
Last day in AZ
Overall we were pleased with the course. The conditions were slightly below several other courses in the area that we played this trip.
Good value
It’s an average condition golf course with a relatively simple layout, but at the rate we paid it was fairly priced (unlike many these days).
This course is a good choice
Staff was very good and friendly that made for a relaxing round of golf. Course is in good condition.
First 4 holes the play was slow but picked up after that. Will definitely play Toka Stick again.
Good price, nice course
Played today for first time. Fortunate to play with a twosome who play there regularly and who shared their course knowledge.
