About
Unlike many other courses in Phoenix, the course at the Toka Sticks Golf Club was not done in a traditional desert-style. It is known amongst locals for having very fast greens, many of which are elevated. The old Toka Sticks course was originally a nine-hole course built in 1945 but in addition to making it an 18-hole, championship course, it has had many renovations in the years since to make it a more challenging and interesting course. There are stately trees present on the course call for straight shots in order to reach the narrow fairways. Two lakes are situated on the course that create water hazards that come into play on sever holes. There are also several well-placed sand bunkers throughout. Toka Stick Golf Club also offers a short game area, a putting green and a driving range.

Slow Greens
Course in generally good condition. Greens extremely slow. Tee boxes need some TLC. Sand traps are in fair condition.
Golf Now Pre Paid Ducks
Golf Now has gotten their last from me except to use them credits I have accumulated. I booked the wrong date and paid. No refund although canceled immediately. I’m done with them and Toka too. Lousy layout. Arrogant golf desk clerks.
Not very friendly or understanding
Booked through GolfNow- required 2 players to book. Prepaid and then my playing partner woke up with a fever and had to cancel. No refund or rain check for him so I way overpaid for one. No recourse from GolfNow or Toka. Just out of luck. So many other courses around. Not good customer service at all. They do not care.
Worst Pace of Play Ever Experienced, Poor Maintenance, Save Your Money
Really terrible experience with this course.
Had a tee time early Saturday morning, groups were 20 min behind. Took 2:15 to complete the first 6 holes. Called clubhouse to ask for a partial refund or voucher to come back at a different time. They said no but promised to speed up play.
Took another hour to finish the next 3 holes, giving us 3:15 total to play the front 9 (not including the 20 min late start). Requested voucher/refund again and manager said he'd give us half back.
Realized when I got home he didn't refund half, but refunded about 30%. Have attempted to call back multiple times but either no answer/redirected to call at a later time to speak to someone who could help. Sent multiple emails but still no response.
That experience aside, course was in very poor condition. Mole holes, puddles, huge dead spots on greens - every hole was something new (see attached for a couple examples).
Highly recommend saving your time and money and avoiding this place.

Toka Sticks
We found the conditions of the course to be very good and the entire staff very friendly. The pace of play for the first few holes was awful, with three groups at a tee, but it picked up as we went. The back nine, for some reason, thinned out and was fine.
