Toka Sticks Golf Club
About
Unlike many other courses in Phoenix, the course at the Toka Sticks Golf Club was not done in a traditional desert-style. It is known amongst locals for having very fast greens, many of which are elevated. The old Toka Sticks course was originally a nine-hole course built in 1945 but in addition to making it an 18-hole, championship course, it has had many renovations in the years since to make it a more challenging and interesting course. There are stately trees present on the course call for straight shots in order to reach the narrow fairways. Two lakes are situated on the course that create water hazards that come into play on sever holes. There are also several well-placed sand bunkers throughout. Toka Stick Golf Club also offers a short game area, a putting green and a driving range.

Old Air Force Base Course
Has potential to be good.
The clubhouse doesn't connect good with food and beverage.
-Greens on 10-11 are difficult
-Some holes could be refreshed the Par 5 especially such as hole two, four and nine.
Good Value
In very good shape. They run a lot of players through.
This course really needs a Marshall……pace of play is awful
Nice course
The coarse overall was in very good shape and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The only negative is the bunkers are all hard as clay so that was a slight bummer. Coarse isn’t the most challenging but was still a lot of fun. Generally forgiving fairways with a few little obstacles that required some strategy. The greens are challenging, some are very small and elevated. All the greens were very firm allowing the ball to roll a lot after impact. Enjoyed my time, will be back again.
Great as always
Love the track been playing Toka Sticks for years. green rolling perfect, bunkers raked and great shape. never a bad time.
Yardage markers
No yardage markers!!!!! Is it too much to expect markers? Does the golf course see these reviews?
Ok track
Not a bad course, fairly good shape, greens rolled good. This time of year suppose $70 is going rate. Can't belive how the golf rates have sky rocketed the past few years, wish driving range had some flags up to check your distances, I'd play it again...
First Time Played, GREAT DAY!
First, paired with another couple of similar ability SO made for a FUN day! Course was a pleasant surprise. Nice fairways (some narrow) and SUPER FAST greens as advertised! Traps were NOT the best AND any that had standing water dried to something like cement! I guess my only real complaint was the cart girl! NOT real friendly. Never spoke twice when she drove by, once when one of us was hitting near the cart path. She needs some training on golf ediquitte AND could be more FRIENDLY! Maybe just a bad day!
Good value.
Good value for the money. This was my first time golfing at this course, and I’ll be back. Course could use just a little TLC, but our foursome had an enjoyable afternoon.
Course good, but some odd lapses
Course is worth playing, good condition, good layout. Weirdnesses: no signs at intersections (went to wrong tee box once), only a simple sign at tees (no yardages or diagrams), no washers (apparently still COVID protocols).
No beverage cart seen until hole 17, can only get a hot dog and chips at the turn (and beverages).
Would play again.
Steady as they go
Played the course back in Dec and it has really rounded into shape. Solid layout with tougher than expected greens, some long par 3s and fun par 4s.
Staff is always great, mornings are better for timing as you would expect.
Fun time
I am a new player. The course was not too difficult and, as it was a weekday, it wasn't as much pressure to rush through. Everyone that I encountered was very helpful. My playing partner is much better, but also enjoyed the course.
Unfair
almost all the greens are very narrow and protected by sand on both sides so if you happen to hit the trap you are severely penalized. 9th and 18 th green are a complete joke, forget about sticking the green i you are 50 yards or further out
