Toka Sticks Golf Club
About
Unlike many other courses in Phoenix, the course at the Toka Sticks Golf Club was not done in a traditional desert-style. It is known amongst locals for having very fast greens, many of which are elevated. The old Toka Sticks course was originally a nine-hole course built in 1945 but in addition to making it an 18-hole, championship course, it has had many renovations in the years since to make it a more challenging and interesting course. There are stately trees present on the course call for straight shots in order to reach the narrow fairways. Two lakes are situated on the course that create water hazards that come into play on sever holes. There are also several well-placed sand bunkers throughout. Toka Stick Golf Club also offers a short game area, a putting green and a driving range.

Quick round
The course is in good condition but the greens have some bare spots. The pin placement was very difficult as it seemed that holes were cut on 2 slopes.
We followed a foursome of me who were walking (we were 3 women in carts). We waited on most tees but the pace was OK. At the turn, the men offered to let us play through and we sped through the rest of the round. We finished in less than 4 hours and had a great time.
Note: They have tried to add to the social distancing directive by having each person in a cart of their own and adding a PVC plug around each flagstick. In my opinion, other courses have done a better job by adding pool noodle foam in the cups.
Nice Course
With everything going on with Covivd-19, it was nice to get out on a sunny warm day. Course conditions very good. Staff members doing all they can in keeping people spaced on the course and wiping down carts ect.
Enjoyed the day. Pace of play was excellent and our foursome had a beginner. Recommend the course for both medium and high handicappers. Maybe not as challenging for low handicappers.
Greens are fast and hard like pool tables
This is a beautiful course. Everyone is extremely pleasant and helpful. The drawbacks are that the greens are hard and very fast and you cannot stop a putt from rolling. It is rare for the greens to hold a drive on the fly as they bounce or roll off. The rough is rough and the grass could be cut lower for easier play. The fairways are in very good condition. Still, the pace of play was outstanding and as stated the staff is great. I think you should give the course a shot and take the above notes to help you.
Greens were real nice. Course was kept up in good shape. It's a flat course witch was a nice little change from the mountain courses I have been playing. I'll play it again when I come down to visit.
Great day. Fine course
Course was in great shape. Was busy but okay moved well. Layout is fairly simple but has a few challenges.
Staff didn’t offer to ckeanckubs at end of round. As this was my last round of the winter season and my clubs are going in storage I wanted it done.
Good day
Courses in great condition playing very tough especially after the rains can't wait to play it again
Sunday Golf
Excellent condition of the course, really enjoyed the course. Wind made the play difficult and there was a very slow group we had to bypass.
Suggest a ranger be available to monitor. That group was at least one and half behind.
A very windy day
Toka Sticks is always a fun course to play. Course conditions are rather typical for an Arizona public course. Course layout is both fun and somewhat challenging. Greens are on the quick side but run very true. Very high winds today. A consistent 20 mph wind with occasional gusts close to 30 mph. Club selection a real challenge. Played in just under 4 hours. More than acceptable in wind conditions. I will return here.
Well run course
Nice layout and friendly and helpful staff. Enjoyed the layout and condition. Pace of play was excellent. Course was full and played in under 4 hours.
always good
Course is in really good shape. Greens were a good pace and the fairways are perfect. At high season in the valley, Toka Sticks is always good value.
